    Pros

    Good people to work with, excellent product line, benefits are good. Acquisition by Canon should be beneficial.

    Cons

    Positions still being eliminated due to acquisition and organization restructuring by Canon. Job security not the best at this time. Many long term employees have been terminated.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    It would seem that staffing decisions are being made by Canon management without enough input from Oce management. Canon management still needs to better understand the Oce business model.

    Pros

    Some good, talented people. Some really great products too... but that's about it. Certainly not enough pros to fill the twenty word minimum Glassdoor requires.

    Cons

    Senior management treats employees like pawns for their own advancement. Motivation and good morale is zero. The corporate culture here is basically the "haves" and the "have nots". Unless you are either one of those select "favorite" employees or in a senior position forget about any pay raises, bonus, etc. (Many people just got let go with the Canon acquisition and the remaining ones just got a demotion in their titles plus no more bonus plan going forward.) If you are "favored" it has nothing to do with how well (or badly) you do your job. In general you will just be expected to work harder every year to just make the same compensation. Certain departments are pathetically incompetent but management will turn a blind eye and expect you to cover for them instead of them fixing the real problem. Things are not looking to improve with Canon either... not a good place to work... and I've been there since 1998.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Respect your employees and represent their interests instead of just your own. Employees will be more loyal and work hard for the company. Compensation and title should be matched to the roles and responsibilities and not just what was convenient for Canon.

    Pros

    Decent health insurance, affordable PPO options for both individuals and family plans. Pay is decent.

    Cons

    You are grossly disrespected in this organization. Your opinion about the work or how to add value to improve an existing process does not matter. Oce is now owned by Canon, Inc. The company constantly lays-off and you never know when you will be let go. No job security and management is very abusive and oppressive toward its employees. Work-life balance here does not exist. They want you to practically live at the company and be grateful to have a job.

    Fire all of the current middle-managers and top managers and hire all new management.

    Pros

    Oce was a fantastic place to work. Advancement opportunities were plentiful, pay was based on performance. Raises with promotions were outstanding, and benefits were terrific. The culture was conservative, but still fun. Overall a great place to work.

    Cons

    Purchasing Imagistics was the biggest mistake ever made, putting the "box movers" at Imagistics in charge was the second biggest mistake. These people were cheap, unaware of how to sell the value of an outstanding product, treated their employees like cattle, and all around one of the worst management teams I have ever seen in place at a large corporation. I believe the downfall at Oce can be solely attributed to the senior management team in place from the time of purchase of Imagistics to the sale of Oce to Canon. Sad.

    Get rid of anyone in senior management previously associated with Imagistics.

    Good benefits package. Salary is decent.

    Cons

    No appreciate is show to employees by management. Way too much internal office politics goes on that keeps people in positions that they do not belong in. The work environment could certainly be described as hostile. Granted there is an acquisition going on now, but management does not do enough to boost morale, encourage any sort of teamwork, or even praise those who do a good job. Communication is horrible! It can be compared to working in a government job! So much red tape to go through to get anything done. Many managers treat their employees like idiots and berate them at every opprotunity. No respect shown at Oce.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Get in touch with your people more. Do things to boost morale. Replace some of your supervisors & managers with people who know how to treat employees with some dignity and respect. Learn how to communicate with people within your organzation.

    Pretty good money. Reasonable expectations for performance standards. They had some bonus opportunities that had payouts that were quite motivating.

    Cons

    Internal politics contributed to lower moral than necessary. Drab cubical office environment was difficult to overcome. Opportunity for advancement for this position was minimal.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Supervisors need to become believably content with their own position. They need to help create a more happy and proud culture within the call center both in their communication and the environment off the call center itself.
