Pros
Products, pay, benefits, co-workers, room to grow
Cons
Lay offs, bad management, very silo'd
Pros
Decent benefits, if you like working alone this is the job for you.
Cons
No pay raises for years now, on top of 10% cut in salary that was supposed to be only "temporary", morale non-existant. Cronyism abounds in middle and upper management. Goals are expected to met or else you won't have a job at review time.
Advice to Senior Management
Canon should clean house and replace all management.
Pros
Generous vacation packages and employee holiday packages. Was close to home. Managers in departments other than Operations were flexible and willing to train.
Cons
Operations management felt that work comes first and foremost above everything else in your life. Very long hours, not enough pay, never complimented for job well done and ALWAYS berated in front of other employees.
Advice to Senior Management
More like advice to CEOs of Canon...FIRE ALL EXISTING MANAGEMENT AND SUPERVISORS IN OPERATIONS DEPARTMENT AND START FRESH!!!
Pros
Decent pay, ok benefits, casual work enviroment, some of the people ok to work with, decent balance between work/family life
Cons
No raises for the regular employees in 3 years, but upper management still getting bonuses and raises. Some employees been there too long and just punching a clock to play on the internet all day and not do their jobs, bought by Canon last year so now instead of being 2 companies (Oce and Imagistics never really merged systemically) we get to try to be 3 companies, still having to use two different inventory systems because of the Oce & Imagistics not being combined completely before selling to Canon. Canon merger taking too long employees left feeling "up in the air" over their job security. Constant threat of layoffs and treated like you should be happy you have a job with no respect or raises!
Advice to Senior Management
Clean house! Get rid of the folks just punching clocks and killing time and appriciate those that are really trying despite the lack of respect.
Pros
Its a safe place to work, not much fear of being let go
Cons
unfair management , no recognition to seniority, raises suck
Pros
The company has average pay and average benefits. There are some very talented people that could be your coworkers. In sales roles if you get the right territory you could be very successful. They have some great new technologies that position them favorably in the market.
Cons
Little to no opportunity for personal advancement. There is no career planning offered by management. There is inadequate training for all technical staff. They rely on hiring people that have skills and then do nothing to keep them current with new technology.
Advice to Senior Management
Get out in the field and understand your employees problems and your companies strengths and weaknesses at the branch office level. Then hire people to do what is necessary and hold them accountable. I would also encourage more accurate business planning.
Pros
nice showroom, two primary locations not too far away from each other.
Cons
low male, no work/life balance, diversity is lacking, there are many people in positions they aren't qualified to have, many employee benefits and services cut, merger with Canon
Pros
Good high volume products and services
Cons
1) unethical practices by management- assigning unearned revenue to favorites
2) improper manager/employee relationships,
3) inequitable territory assignments
4)equipment expense on the high volume end.
5)poor name brand recognition
6) revolving door - its not always the employees, look at the management
Advice to Senior Management
Get rid of Baltimore management team
Pros
Great medical, dental and vision benefits. They really did not hold back on anything on the benefits side of things.
Cons
Not being able to provide machines in a timely manner is really hindering any sales I have going right now. The office atmosphere is quite stuffy and would really much prefer a little more upbeat attitude.
Pros
Benefits are OK. The Boca Raton office is really nice, and has a subsidized cafeteria with great food. If you get into Production Systems, salaries are high. Wide Format and Document Systems are revolving doors, and considered second class citizens. Canon buyout means there should be changes soon.
Cons
Currently unstable with yearly layoffs. Impending axe fall from Canon integration means big layoffs soon. Top heavy with overpaid management. EXTREMELY political and cliquish- like dealing with high schoolers. Zero communication from management.Imagistics/Oce merger handled very poorly- still like working for two different companies. Some very arrogant, unpleasant coworkers. Everyone is in CYA mode. Don't expect much help trying get your job done.
Advice to Senior Management
Step down and make way for some people with a clue.
