Be The First To

I worked at Occidental Fire & Casualty full-time for more than 10 years
Pros – Fridays you get to leave at 12:30. But you worked an extra hour the other four days to get this privilege.
Cons – Management micromanages staff beyond the point of distraction. The environment is one of high stress, worse internally than the external factors.
Advice to Senior Management – Review the degrading management culture and cull some of the worst offenders to bring back the sunshine into the work environment. The omnipresent sense of doom makes for very unhappy employees.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

I worked at Occidental Fire & Casualty
Pros – Flexibility with tending to personal life/issues. Only work half days every Friday. Decent 401K package.
Cons – The claims department is the "red-headed step child" of the company. Other departments which have less effect on the company's bottom line, are treated far better. If you are looking to kill your career, looking for ZERO opprotunity for professional/personal growth, them you should consider working for OFC/WIC
Advice to Senior Management – At one time, the employees were important - opinions, working conditions, etc. Ever since the economy took a change for the worst, a change in management which was brought in to try and turn the company back around, simply forgot that the EMPLOYEES are the greastest ASSET of any company, forgetting this in the sake of making a profit, is sad.
REMEMBER: Take care of your employees and they will take care of you AND your customers.
No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
