I worked at Odessa Technologies (Less than a year)

    Pros

    1. You will be exposed to code from the beginning. This helps you in the long run. 2. Good support from seniors. (Though it highly varies from person to person and team to team) 3. You will learn the entire development life cycle process in details. 4. Superb training. 5. Good work will give you recognition. (Again, depends on the lead and manager)

    Cons

    1. The new version of the product gives nothing to learn for the developers. The development is very specific to the company. Everything is too much automated. But, its good if you get to work in the older version of the product. 2. HR driven company. Most of the times HR will have more power than the manager or the lead. 3. Switching jobs is common in this industry. But here you become their prime enemy if you want to switch. 4. Poor employee retention policy.

    Advice to Management

    1. Its high time to rethink how to keep your employees happy. 2. Open up the code more for developers as far as the new version is concerned.

I have been working at Odessa Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Working on older version would greatly help in getting hands dirty over the code. Newer version is good for company profits but nothing can be learnt from it. Most managers are friendly, Helpful and can seek help at anytime Above average salary Hike.

    Cons

Too much Micro Management going on. Time Deadline for Projects are too short. Employees are squeezed to work late nights and weekends. Not employee friendly. Working late nights does not get anything. Not even recognition. Working on Weekends doesn't even count. Devising a new Automation Tool which might become Developers nightmare. If tool is used full fledged, Nothing can be learnt from newer version (There is very less Technical things to Learn from newer version already)

    Advice to Management

Have a check over Micro Management. Recognise Employees who work weekends, late nights to meet the bizarre deadlines.

I have been working at Odessa Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - a flat structure, so more visibility - good for freshers. Important responsibilities given from an early stage itself. - mentors are helpful and have a sound technical and functional know-how. a good work environment.

    Cons

    - Salary is low for the amount of work expected out of you. - HR policies are all over the place. They need to re-evaluate their Salary structures. - HR department needs to be more proactive and take employee grievances into account instead of burying it. - Communication within a project needs to be improved. better time management and planning required.

I have been working at Odessa Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1) Good for freshers (for not more than 2 yrs) !! 2) Niche Domain

    Cons

1)The domain Odessa works may be niche but offer very few opportunities and recognition outside. 2) Growth offered (even for those who are above par) is stunted.Roles for level above project leads are more or less filled. 3) Senior management (seniors as in those who have worked close to 10yrs with Odessa) seem to have a free hand in deviating and defining their own policies 4) Attrition levels are huge(Employess and HR), not a place for laterals

    Advice to Management

Get a grip ,bring in some consistency.Let laterals at all levels bring in their best practices.Although a privately held firm, a certain level of democracy needs to be put in place to all

  6. Good place to learn but high on politics

I have been working at Odessa Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    1. Lot to learn and explore. 2. A perfect place to start and continue as a Business Analyst. 3. Take home salary is very very good. 4. Responsibility of various modules given at an early stage of your career.

    Cons

    1. Responsibility of various modules given at an early stage of your career. This can be a con too as there is a high chance of messing it up. 2. Some projects will make you work for more than 12hours a day and that would continue for almost 5 to 6 months a year.

    Advice to Management

HRs are doing an awesome job.

I worked at Odessa Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good for people who don't want to explore technologies but happy with salary.

    Cons

Not a technology oriented company. Not all developers happen to code the core modules. You will be doing configuration management in the name of developer. Spend two years here and your rest of the life should be spent in this company. Organisation that only believes top level hierarchy and only if you are from the origin of the senior Hr, you might get some edge over others..

    Advice to Management

Just don't stick to Microsoft technologies. You won't move forward. You will keep reading similar reviews. At least give a try to change things..
