    Good for freelance but not much else

    Senior Art Director (Former Employee) New York, NY

    ProsHours are good for balancing family and career. People for the most part are very nice. Well compensated for salary.

    ConsNo significant leadership from the president and other top executives. Creative leadership is lacking in the conceptual department. The work is not about ideas, it's about puns and metaphors. Account doesn't champion work and at times is a detriment to it. Process for work is maligned in miscommunication. An embarrassment to the Ogilvy name.

    Advice to Senior ManagementYou need a POV for the agency to hang its hat on. Saying that you're going to be great at what you do isn't a vision, it's a cop-out. Develop a creative department with leadership that is conceptual and can bring more to a brand in it's thinking than metaphors and nicely designed materials. Install a president that earnestly unites the agency, not blow smoke up it's collective posterior. Trust the very few people that you have left that actually know what they're doing and empower them to lead.

    ProsSenior management excluded, the people are wonderful to work with.

    ConsNo money, no perks, no fun.

    Advice to Senior ManagementTalent is what makes an agency and if you continue to treat it like a commodity, all the talent will be at your competitors.

    Agency of the year, but it seems that Ogilv`s values are lost

    Planner Intern (Current Employee) São Paulo, São Paulo (Brazil)

    Pros- Corporate culture. No other agency has such a modern culture than Ogilvy;
    - Being constantly updated with the news in the market, sent via email to all Ogilvy`s employees;
    - Working with different areas all time;
    - Sometimes getting in touch with foreign clients;

    Cons- Bosses doesn't know how to speak english AT ALL, and it doesn't seem to matter much, even though they talk with foreign clients daily;
    - The director doesn't even know employees names;
    - People are way too unmotivated at work, they gossip about each other all time;
    - Bosses tantrum a lot at work. They are very very infant;
    - No professional development and no well-marked career plans. Either for interns or for effective employees.

    Advice to Senior Management- Learn some english;
    - Stop being such a kid. Get to know the people that work with you and motivate them;
    - Consider incorporating the company values in the everyday work. Things would DEFINITELY be better;
    - Develop your interns. I've spent two uninterrupted weeks asking all day for tasks and I've been rejected in all of them;

    Great people, good hours

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

    ProsThe people that populate the company are great, positive attitudes in general. Hours of work didn't kill anyone, very reasonable expectations. actually better than most agencies I have worked at. fairly low stess.

    Consthe creative output could be turned up. Not that it was bad, could just be better.

    Advice to Senior ManagementOpen it up to more creatives when pitching/concepting. You will get better results overall, and a happier staff.

    Good place to start in healthcare advertising and comms, strong brand reputation,

    Account Manager (Former Employee) Sydney (Australia)

    ProsGood client mix, relatively high level of autonomy, regular feedback regarding performance review

    ConsHierachy in management makes it difficult to effect change. Due to limited staff in certain areas, good AMs are expected to take on many accounts, sometimes difficult to manage.

    Advice to Senior ManagementTake employee feedback more seriously.

    A family atmosphere, and wonderful clients

    Planning Executive (Former Employee) London, England (UK)

    ProsThe company is structured to provide a full suite of services to healthcare clients, consulting, advertising, PR, MedEd, etc. This allows all of the departments to feed off of each other to ensure that we are producing the best solutions for clients.
    Management is very human, and focused on making the company a rewarding place to be.
    Staff drinks on Fridays also are very welcome!

    ConsThe team is good at getting big new pieces of work, but sometimes it takes a while to get the staffing levels up to proper strength to service the account. This can lead to several weeks/months of extra work for some team members. In the end, this is a bit of a good thing since it is a sign of a growing agency. There is a feeling that everyone must step-up to deliver.

    Advice to Senior ManagementKeep doing what you are doing! Stay close to the staff and ensure constant feedback loops are in place to keep the office running like a family.
