Good but not great training system. opportunity to work in multiple counties and states. Job is a good stepping stone for individuals looking to become landmen or looking to advance with a larger companies land department

    Cons

very limited growth potential. Industry climate dictates amount of work available. must be willing to travel.

    Advice to Management

revamp training system. better communication from top to bottom

I worked at Oil & Gas Title Abstracting full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - The people are great and extremely friendly - Fun work environment (depending on the team placed)

    Cons

    - pay is not great - little room to move up - Owner is nepotistic and does not know how to keep her company alive in rough times. As with many oil and gas positions large layoffs are frequent; however, the owner of OGTA never lays off her friends but instead gets rid of more deserving hard working employees.

    Advice to Management

    Get new management

    Pros

    Laid back atmosphere, friendly people

    Cons

Poor upper management, Vision for the future was poor, Would fire and re hire people constantly

    Advice to Management

Have a vision and idea for the future and go with it. Let the employees know what is going on. We're all adults we can take it, and we probably know whats happening anyways since everyone there talks behind each others back
