I worked at Oklahoma Christian University

    Pros

Cooperation between departments, every department is student focused, and maintaining a balanced home life is important.

    Cons

There's not much room for growth or salary increase.

I worked at Oklahoma Christian University part-time (less than an year)

    Pros

You can make lifelong friendships and good relationships with the people you meet here. Everyone is quite friendly if you are friendly to them first.

    Cons

I worked during the summer and made less than a sweat shop worker in tangible money and still under minimum wage if you included the scholarship I received. You have to love the job to do it - it's not for the money.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Consider hiring people who are not all from Chi or Gamma ;D

I have been working at Oklahoma Christian University full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

The students are generally sincere and hard-working; many professors are genuine and well-prepared. Schedules can be flexible. Focus on student involvement in missions commendable.

    Cons

Lack of communication within and between departments and administration. In-fighting, favoritism, lack of courage and character on the part of those in positions to make decisions. Very superficial, lip-service "intellectual" Christianity, lacking in depth and heart.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication, true desire to do the right thing (not just the convenient or safe thing), follow-through on promises. Not being driven by money and appearances, but by truth and integrity.

I have been working at Oklahoma Christian University full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

    Interaction with young people.
Colleagues are typically very intellectual and interesting to work with.

    Cons

    Very poor organizational infrastructure.
Very poor communication throughout the university.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Replace Senior Administration with personnel with the qualifications, credentials, and work experience necessary to be effective. Look outside the current administration and faculty to fill the next open positions.

I worked at Oklahoma Christian University full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Great Christian atmosphere and environment to work at. There are many intangible perks built in such as lots of additional time off due throughout the year than you would typically see in other companies. Management is very personable and engaging with the various level of employees throughout campus.

    Cons

Advancement can be limited due to the fact many people stay for a long time. This simply speaks to how much people enjoy working there. Compensation is most likely on the lower end, but this is off-set by many of the other intangible benefits that employees receive.

I worked at Oklahoma Christian University

    Pros

I loved working at OC. It's a supportive Christian environment.

    Cons

The pay isn't that great because it's a small university. Most offices have little room for advancement.

I have been working at Oklahoma Christian University

    Pros

Flexible schedule, missions focus, shorter school year, decent IT environment,

    Cons

Low pay, incompetence from too many staff, too many faculty who feel they don't have to work as hard because they make less $, very spoiled and whiny students, students with the amazing combination of being very spiritual and very selfish, What is the Academy of Leadership and Liability?

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire more outside perspectives, don't hire any staff straight out of OC graduation, marketing department really needs to see how the world works outside of OC
