    Good company to work for

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThus far, work/balance has been good.
Meet a lot of nice people working for the company, when you visit other branches.

Consbonus structure makes you work hard for the money, even if the branch doesn't perform well.
all business and no pleasure: no company gatherings, events for associates.

Great Benefits in an "old" atmosphere.

    Insurance CSA (Current Employee)

ProsONB stresses a work/life balance. They give back and encourage employees to do so also by giving them "Volunteer Hours". Voted the Most Ethical Company in banking.

ConsOld National Bank, old pretty much sums it up. Too many levels of management to accomplish much. Not much room for advancement in the Insurance Agency ONB owns.

    Great experience depending on leadership

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

    Pros-extensive and thorough training
-provides resources to folks who take initiative to grow professionally
-community involvement is encouraged and supported
-excellent place to work for people that are new to the banking industry

Cons-extremely conservative- it is extremely hard to get a loan approved--- no matter what kind of relationship a client has with the bank.
    -pay is not competitive
-cliquey and a lot of gossip
-cannot guarantee the same level of service at every banking center
-bankers are also tellers. At slower centers, this is perfect, however, at busier centers, it is difficult to keep the focus on sales.

Advice to Senior ManagementIt is important the banking center managers know how to coach their teams. When a manager does not know how to motivate and encourage their team, morale is bad. I also suggest paying your employees more. The bank invests so much money in training employees-- more so than most companies-- however you are losing your good people to banks that pay more.
