The way a business should run

    Sellebrity (Current Employee) Westminster, CA

ProsOld Navy is very professional and everyone follows the rules. The employees are always excited and very fun to work with. And there's always motivation to work hard and give great customer service.

ConsThe only con I can think of is the lack of hours, but it is the slow season and it is going to pick back up closer to summer in a month or so.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work! This company is great and a lot of fun! I actually WANT to come to work :)

Fun Environment but Too Focused on Revenue

Sellebrity (Current Employee) Los Angeles, CA

    ProsAmazing coworkers
    relaxed workplace
25% off the store and 50% off of Gap and Banana Republic merchandise

ConsCorporate treats you like a number (Your performance is based on how many people you sign up for credit cards over anything else)
    virtually no room for promotion

Advice to Senior ManagementIf an employee is assigned to the sales floor for their whole shift, judge them by the quality of their shops and how many customers they helped rather than how many Old Navy cards they got people to sign up for.

Okay company, but could be much better.

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Glendora, CA

ProsFlexible schedule and typically a fun work environment. Easy work. I didn't work at a high-volume store, so we didn't have many days where the work became overwhelming.

ConsBiased management who played favorites at every opportunity. Qualified candidates were never promoted; unqualified people always moved up. Compared to other companies, Old Navy does a poor job of assessing and retaining talent.

Turnover rate among new employees rapidly increased because workers quickly grew frustrated. For a few years, turnover among management was a problem.

Frequent miscommunications from management, particularly a handful who did not speak good English.

Low hours even during booming season.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend
