I worked at Old Navy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great job for students looking to work part time. Very easy to learn everything. Interview and application process was easy and short. Every store I've worked at has had a great management team that becomes friends. Also have a great employee discount that is good at Banana Republic and Gap too.

    Cons

Hours can be low depending on how business is going.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

-discount on merchandise -good environment - Area is really nice - employees are easy to talk to - managers are welcoming

    Cons

-management plays favorites -selling Old Navy card ( the more you sell the more hours you get) - they hardly give you hours -if you're new they don't really train you and expect you to learn things on your own -at times management is really pushy - people in the area are snobby and rude

    Advice to Management

Give other employees a chance instead of choosing favorites.

I worked at Old Navy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great hours for part time, it's a good way to start out in retail, Working for any Gap Inc affiliate gives you a boost in the retail world.

    Cons

Not a lot of advancement opportunities, corporate doesn't really reward seniority, not super customer service minded they mostly care about credit card acquisitions.

    Advice to Management

My management was fine as far as retail us concerned, my note would be to HQ or HR place more value in your employees and stop constantly hiring from outside the company when it comes to management.

    Pros

    - Training is very simple - Managers listen/respond to your opinions - Tasks are minimal and fairly simple

    Cons

    - Hours varied greatly. (You can get up to 40 hours a week or none in the entire month) - Not for individuals who cant work standing for hours

    Advice to Management

Inform seasonal workers more frequently about their employment status.

I worked at Old Navy (More than a year)

    Pros

During my time there, I met and worked with some great people that I still keep in contact with.

    Cons

Company is more interested in selling their credit cards to customer's than actually providing customer service.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on your employees skills and talents and build up their lesser qualities instead of knocking them down. Provide better customer service to your customers.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

the customers and the coworkers and even the environment you work in is friendly and inviting. Job itself is pretty easy too

    Cons

downsides wold be the amount of hours you get. Although it is part time, but they are very flexible with your schedule which is pretty nice

    Advice to Management

hire some people to stay over night to fix and organize the shelves and tables, sometimes they get out of control.

I have been working at Old Navy part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

large discount on clothes, Generally friendly coworkers, flexible scheduling, positive environment, no dress code for the most part. The work isn't very difficult either, however it can be quite fast paced on busy days.

    Cons

If you don't have an open schedule you might end up getting very few hours. I went several weeks getting 0 hours. hard to advance or improve because of this. They also pushed ONCs like crazy when it isn't always realistic to be able to get them.

    Advice to Management

Spread out hours between employees more evenly, give a more reasonable amount of hours. Long breaks for no reason make adjusting to the store after coming back quite difficult.
