If you are willing to work very hard and a lot of hours you can be successful there.

Store Manager (Former Employee) Los Angeles, CA

ProsThey have Great employee discounts at all brands and very good health benefits

ConsNo work life balance. You really need to work a lot of hrs to get things done so the store looks good. You need to make up for the lack of payroll dollars

Advice to Senior ManagementChange store hrs. On thanksgiving. More payroll. Less dog and pony shows for upper management.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend

Seasonal employee, long hours, forgot to lay me off .

Seasonal Sales Associate (Former Employee) Valencia, CA

ProsLots of hours. Seasonal employment was good for getting my foot in the door for other jobs. Good employee discount for Old Navy, Gap, and Banana Republic.

ConsSpent many nights recovering store until 3AM, even the night before finals. Unrealistic expectations for clean up after holidays. Many employees had to find shortcuts around fixing everything up. Typical management favoritism. Forgot to give me an end of the season lay off letter. Didn't know I didn't work there anymore until I stopped being scheduled. Awkward because Old Navy isn't even an ex-boyfriend.

Advice to Senior ManagementTrain better. Don't assign just one person to two different departments and expect everything to get done. Treat all employees equally and not as disposable because they are seasonal.

Consthe hours were not very good

    Okay

Sales Associate (Former Employee) Long Beach, CA

    Pros.Above average pay ( Seasonal was 8.25)
    .employees were friendly. not clique-y
.decent discount, around 20%. i can't remember specifically

Cons. They push you to try to sell. That means telling everyone the promotions, checking up on customers who already said they don't need help and trying to get them to buy, and if someone looks like they're going to buy something they want you to go and say what they're looking at will go great with something else (ex:those jeans would go great with this top!). this was my biggest issue, when people clearly want to be left alone, they want you to keep pestering them.
.even though it was seasonal, i only got a few shifts. probably 3 or 4. they never got around to set me up for their schedule informing system and when i missed a day, i never got a shift after that.

Advice to Senior Managementstop making us try to sell everything to customers who want to be left alone.
