    I worked at Old Navy

    Pros

    Coworkers were nice and supportive.
Always an ability to be promoted.

    Cons

Store manager highly disrespectful--barks orders all day. Almost every sentence that came out of the manager's mouth was a harsh command that was widely accepted as very rude! The atmosphere was always cheery, happy, and we could do better customer service until store manager showed up. Then, all the leaders became tense (not mean), but tense. You could tell they were all afraid of being yelled at (which was inevitable for most) or losing their job.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Calm down. Everything will be alright. You can get your point across without being so disrespectful. Management seems to think the store's success is all because of the customers...that is not true. It is highly successful because of the work of their employees. When employees are calm and happy, they promote their store and sales proudly. They are able and willing to service customers because they want to be there. If there is always tension when the manager enters, then clearly, no one is working to the best of their ability to service the customers. They are working to not be yelled at or fired. They have no pride in what they do because their managers have no respect for them.

    Pros

    Great discount..
( I have to enter more than five words.. So here you go. )

    Cons

I applied for full time and they put me in for seasonal.
I told them my availability was for a specific time and they didn't respect that.
The hours I would work in a day at some other place they would give me for the week.
They hire too much people and don't have enough hours for anybody.
    15 minute breaks !
They expect you to knock out the whole store in two seconds and fold great.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Your employees work hard, extend the break, and raise the pay and hours.

    Pros

The company makes your job fun. The best time are around holiday season.

    Cons

    Some managers play favorites.
Getting promoted is hard. Seemed like you only got an offer if you were friends with management outside of work.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Do what best for the company not worry about your friendships with the associates.

I worked at Old Navy part-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Flexibilty with work schedule, great managers, discounts on clothes. The work is easy and the customers are friendly. It was a happy environment and I enjoyed going to work. Some of my best friends today are my co-workers I met while working at Old Navy.

    Cons

Hours can be cut and you may be short handed even on busy days. While you work doing a variety of different types of work the redundancy of the work becomes boring.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Create a career path for employees who want to grow with the company. Some employees who have worked there for many years feel burned out. If they had more responsibility or had a change in work assignments the company would retain more employees.
