    Not bad for retail employment

I worked at Old Navy part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Relative to stories I hear about working for large retail corporations, Old Navy is pretty nice. There is no strict dress code and they do not discriminate against tattoos and piercings. The scheduling is flexible. You get plenty of breaks.

    Cons

It was annoying how so many people would get mad at me for Old Navy having bad signage and misleading promotions since none of that was my fault. It was annoying how so many people would get mad at me for Old Navy having bad signage and misleading promotions since none of that was my fault. NOT environmentally friendly and exploits cheap asian labor for their clothing.

    Pros

Old Navy has great benefits. Full-Time healthcare, discounts, and competitive pay. It's a fun working environment

    Cons

There were never enough hours to fully staff the store so your job duties were never completed.

    Advice to Management

It only works if you have the right team in place.

    Pros

Old Navy is a great place to work! They were super flexible with my crazy college schedule, and they were always willing to help me get a shift covered when something came up. This was my first real job, and I could not have been happier with my choice. I have grown so much as a person, and I have learned so much as an employee with this company. It truly will be hard to walk away.

    Cons

You have to grow a thick skin when working in retail, but I like to think that for every bad customer I have, there are at least 20 amazing customers that come along that make the job worth it. Be ready to multitask! There is always so much going on, you need to be able to focus on multiple things at once.

    Advice to Management

    Everything is amazing!

    Pros

Good benefits, great GM at the store I worked at. Great coworkers. Really felt like family.

    Cons

Assistant manager didn't seem to like me that much. There was some favoritism going on between her and other associates.

    Pros

Great team of people, everyone is helpful, employee discount.

    Cons

Customers! They will literally tear a section you just neatly folded or dump clothes everywhere. Sometimes you only get scheduled to work one day a week or sometimes not at all.

    Advice to Management

Better training to employees on register.

    Pros

Phenomenal vacation / paid Time off and growth opportunities.. Always compensated for anything you do For them ..

    Cons

A lot of office work.. The company expects you to submit a ridiculous amount of work and it does not give you a lot of time to Train and develop your leaders.. There is a lack of urgency from the market leaders unless it has something to do With payroll..

    Advice to Management

I would recommend this company to anyone! Make sure you follow P&P to The book! It is very Coorporate when it comes down to it!
