    Pros

Old Navy is easy. You come in, fold, help customers. Not a whole lot of stress at the part time level.

    Cons

The overall store atmosphere really depends on your manager. As I said, this is an easy position to step into with a lot of opportunity for advancement, but if you don't see eye to eye with the managers the job can become mind numbing and tedious.

  2. Nice part-time job, however management can be very rude!

    Pros

    Nice co-workers
    Relaxing Atmosphere
    Relationship with customers

    Cons

    Inconsistent amount of hours
Management gangs up on team members, and takes each others side.
They think it is acceptable to only work two hours.

    Advice to Management

Before you jump to conclusions, listen to everyone's side of the story. As many know, there is a side to every story.

    Pros

During my time there, I met and worked with some great people that I still keep in contact with.

    Cons

Company is more interested in selling their credit cards to customer's than actually providing customer service.

    Advice to Management

Focus more on your employees skills and talents and build up their lesser qualities instead of knocking them down. Provide better customer service to your customers.

    Pros

Pay was great in ak. Paid almost two dollars more then what the lower 48 paid. Very reasonable hours and willing to corporate with schools.

    Cons

Few hours in the summer. Dropped from 25 hours to 17.

    Advice to Management

Keep in mind this is a first job for most people they are learning and trying there best.

I have been working at Old Navy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good pay, good product, good discount. It's one of the better clothing retailers to work for, especially for associates. But the experience is very uneven between locations.

    Cons

Policies are not upheld evenly across stores, and the experience as an employee is almost entirely determined by the general manager of the store. Good stores can be spectacular, and bad stores can be more than miserable.

  7. A very flaky company.

    Pros

Keeping up with a popular store and their fashion trend. Building a couple good relationships with supervisors and co-workers.

    Cons

They will only ever higher part-time. Minimum wage is absolutely not enough to live if you aren't a manager/supervisor. They will hold their stores to high standards when they don't even have enough money to pay their employees to keep the store looking presentable. Work days range anywhere from 1-5 days a week unless you want to clean the store very early in the morning as a facilities worker. Selling Old Navy cards (even to people who can't afford it, but have good enough credit) and making sure they are the number one store in your area is all they really care about. Pay raise for people who have worked there for over a year? More like minimum wage is going up anyways so that will be your wage instead.

    Advice to Management

Hire less people or take less transfers. It's incredibly frustrating when management complains about not being able to pay everyone but still constantly looks for new employees.

    Pros

Management and staff are friendly and caring of their employees. It is satisfying to be able to help customers with their questions or concerns.

    Cons

Sometimes faced with too many tasks at once which makes the job difficult. Also having to work late/closing shifts that end at 11:30 pm or midnight.

  9. Be willing to give up your life. This job is a vampire

    Pros

Benefits, pto, store discount. The crew is often eager to work and very flexible. But cons far outweigh the pros...

    Cons

Old navy is too controlled by paltry payroll. It is impossible to run a store of that size and revenue with 3 employees, sometimes only two. To have to size, and maintain organization on top of customer service, go backs, left over shipment, pricing. So difficult. I have never, in the six years with this company, ever seen a store capable of keeping up with it all.

    Advice to Management

Be more generous with payroll. Your bottom line can cover it. You are burning out you field with lack of appreciation and funding

    Pros

    Employee discount, flexible and customers.

    Cons

Management does alot of micromanage and bullying. More like a high school environment with alot of running and tell things. Managers befriend employees and talking about other employees to them.

    Advice to Management

Be nice to employees and employees will want to come to work and actually do their job.

    Pros

It can be fun to work and fun environment.
Managers a really flexible with your schedule especially if your student

    Cons

Sometimes there is lack of management communication among each other. One manger says this and another says something different.
Its not a guarantee that'll you get hours during that week. Which can be a hassle. Will also cut hours time to time

    Advice to Management

Try to cut hours less and communicate with each other better. Make sure everyone on the same page
