    Pros

Amazing people. You really feel like your co-workers are your friends and family. This helps facilitate increased challenge and responsibility on projects.

    Cons

Work is very impactful, and so can be quite stressful. Hours are on the longer side, but average for consulting in general.

    Advice to Management

Continue the momentum of focusing on employee needs and feedback. Progress to date on issues such as work life balance are promising, but keep momentum going.

    Pros

Top management consulting firm with a great environment and one of the smartest talent around in consulting especially in the Middle East.

    Cons

The brand may not be as strong as that of the top 3 firms (MBB), yet it is slowly slowly getting there and soon enough will be able to take over Bain for 3rd place in the industry.

    Advice to Management

The company is definitely on the right track so just keep on doing what you are doing so that we eventually become the best specialized consulting firm in the world

    Pros

A great place to work! I can recommend everyone to join Oliver Wyman, who wants to be challenges, help shape industries and the company internally.
Learning fast, smart people to work with, friendly environment, entrepreneurial spirit

    Cons

Work-life-balance hard to handle, transition to larger organization creates more structure and processes, which can harm the innovative, pragmatic and entrepreneurial spirit - however still much better than at many other consulting companies

    Pros

    - Extremely competitive pay (definitely at the junior and mid level; can't speak for senior level)
    - Diverse workforce; company doesn't just pay lip service to diversity and have numerous strong internal groups to support diversity
    - Very little office politics; very cordial office atmosphere that feel like a family
    - Working with very smart and talented colleagues from elite universities from US, Canada, Europe and Asia
    - Numerous and very robust flexible working programs, including LOA, externship, non-profit fellowship
    - Tons of travel to different cities (could be considered a con depending on stage of life) along with generous travel perks

    Cons

    - Work-life balance can be brutal during projects
    - Very obvious that despite claiming otherwise, company treats internal IC-building projects as second class projects. Senior managers regard IC projects as "side of desk" projects (and thus something to do just to check the box) and junior employees regard internal IC projects as extremely unglamorous. If anyone is working on internal IC projects for too long they are considered to be "not doing well".
    - Expect to travel to a lot of middle-of-nowhere cities for months at a time
    - Staffing process is not as transparent and systematized as the company claims. A lot of projects are informally filled by partners and consultants that already know each other
    - Office culture has become more "corporatey" in the last few years; a lot more process, approvals, etc.; some perks have been cut back
    - Not quite in the same tier as MBB yet

    Advice to Management

    - Need to update the recruiting strategy a bit, especially in Canada. Think of recruiting more as a marketing and branding exercise, rather than a sales exercise. This means really understanding what attracts top undergraduates from elite schools to consulting (prestige, pay, lifestyle), and introduce the OW brand earlier than 3rd year. MBB tend to be the first consulting brands to be introduced to students and that give them an instantaneous advantage

    - Really invest in IC and change the company culture that currently make employees feel like working on internal IC projects is a career killer.

    - Endeavour to create a "small office" feel; this means giving employees more informal perks, more leeway to organize events from bottom-up (and accompanying budget allocation)

    - More frequent alumni engagement events

    Pros

Everyone in this company is extremely smart, but down-to-earth and nice at the same time. Perfect meritocracy - if you are good at what you do, you get rewarded fair and square.

    Cons

Hours can be long and the work can be stressful and extremely demanding. However, this is all part of the experience and it is very rewarding at the end.
