    Pros

The people are good to work with

    Cons

The pay system is a joke, seniority don't matter .

    Advice to Management

Do not bring in temps to hire, and pay them more then the people that are training them. After 5years?

I worked at Olympic Steel full-time

    Pros

Very pro worker, fair salary, excellent benefits, outstanding people, good core values system, high employee engagement, and solid company communications.

    Cons

Experiencing some growing pains; seems some departments do not communicate well with each other on a high level.

I have been working at Olympic Steel full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

overtime Warehouse leads are dedicated and helpful safety wont fire even with adequate reasons

    Cons

Foremen are a joke will probably lose key contracts if management/machine operators are not replaced underpaid no raises (new workers being brought in at salaries gained threw 20 years of current Olympic employment) management doesn't listen allows coworkers to harass

    Advice to Management

listen to your employees that have been there for years about the incoming help, not sweep it under TRAIN AND EDUCATE CURRENT EMPLOYEES, listen to floor employees and leads, they seem to know what needs to be done to get the company on track loose bad baggage

    Pros

Olympic Steel is in the $1.5B club now and feeling it's way to the next plateau. They do many things right and some things not so much. Overall, it still has a smaller company feel. That is a good thing...

    Cons

Still trying to absorb and make sense of the Chicago Tube and Iron purchase a few years ago.

    Advice to Management

Have more one-on-one conversations with average employees. "Catch" somebody doing a good job.

    Pros

Can be a good place to work Once had good management Can be a good place again if managment is replaced

    Cons

It is all about who you know. The President and COO has no morals The management was changed in 2012 which was a huge mistake Nothing but a good old boys club now

    Advice to Management

replace all management from General manager on up. You folks in corp are clueless and big pretenders
