    Pros

This is a wonderful company to work for. Everyone is very up beat and enthusiastic! They have wonderful benefits as well, I can't wait to work for them again!

    Cons

There really aren't any, you are working at a beautiful upscale resort on the beach-how can you beat that?!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing!!!!

    Pros

Focused on being professionals but allow employees to joke around and have fun. Always hours and able to cross-utilize for extra hours. Fair and good at recognizing people for their accomplishments.

    Cons

The consistency of managers can very sometimes. Which, can be frustrating. But, overall nothing awful comes to mind.

    Advice to Management

Keep a consistent management style. Always apply rules and disciplinary actions across the board. Not just when you're upset.

I worked at Omni Hotels full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Depending on how much your bosses conform to the ideal Omni manager, you could have a great manager. But some of them don't really follow or care about the "trilogy"

    Cons

Omni preaches customer experience and bending the rules for customers, but most managers don't actually support this. The company needs to better integrate their culture into the management in order for it to work as intended. The company also pinches pennies in the wrong places, compromising quality for a shiny new paint job on their new 3-4 hotel and resort purchases every year

I have been working at Omni Hotels full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Family feeling and committed to 'growing its garden' of talent from within. Excellent internal talent development programs for college grads as well as high-potential associates and managers within the Company. Debt-free, owned and operated business model provides stability even during tough economic times. Ownership is committed to reinvestment into the Company with robust annual capital plans across the portfolio and strategic development/acquisitions of high-quality assets in key markets.

    Cons

Can be difficult to get into (or back into) the organization in property EC positions due to internal promotions and salary restrictions. Technology infrastructure could be improved to enhance productivity.

    Advice to Management

Be careful to keep the Trilogy (Associate, Guest, Owner) in balance and not tip too far in favor of Owner (profitability) in short-term situations. Given the success of the Company, consider strengthening the retirement savings benefits with more generous 401(k) matching contributions.

    Pros

Good training program for new hires. Managers are kind , knowledgeable and helpful. Enthusiastic co-workers who have been with company for several years. Overall positive environment. Company has invested many millions of dollars into refurbishing and enhancing existing resort on Amelia Island Florida. Company seems interested in providing opportunity for growth.

    Cons

Employee premiums for health benefits are fairly high, but unfortunately this is a sign of the times.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

This company has a lot of money behind it and will invest in a property to bring it up to a new level. It is expected that current employees be treated respectfully and their problems addressed so that corporate does not have to get involved. They have some good recognition programs and the bi-monthly employee meetings are fun and motivating.

    Cons

Communication is very poor. NO ONE knows what is going on so rumors are rampant. Meetings are scheduled and cancelled and the standard for department meetings are monthly. A new employee can start without orientation and be lost until they are finally brought in for it. After this, training and development is focused managers. And unfortunately, the company shows preference to the promotion and selection of younger managers. There are a lot of policies and procedures you will sign an acknowledgement for, but good luck seeing a comprehensive employee handbook. Much of it will be shared randomly as issues arise. You will be told how to do things by the property's management team, but when corporate comes to visit, you hear something different. And rules apply to some but not others. Standards are supposedly strict, but then you will see corporate and other members of management doing something different (grooming, hanging out on property, etc.) Very confusing.

    Advice to Management

If you did everything you say on paper, communicate more from the top down and laterally, and offer more useful training to all, it would be so much better.
