Short but sweet

Server (Former Employee)
New Orleans, LA

I worked at Omni Hotels full-time for less than a year

ProsGreat perks for employees over 90 days, nice benefits, a decent salary if you happen to be a salaried employee

ConsThe management at my particular property seemed a little stagnant, and thus made it hard to move upward in your career.

Yes, I would recommend this company to a friend – I'm optimistic about the outlook for this company

Personally, it hasn't been the best working for them. Their software that they use is pretty slow.

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Omni Hotels full-time for less than a year

ProsIt's a bigger company to work for than previous company. They have a great brand that people trust.

ConsSeems like they aren't interested in keeping current employees around.
Very unorganized with all the changes.

Good company, but has its drawbacks

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)
Austin, TX

I have been working at Omni Hotels part-time for less than a year

ProsGood benefits/perks from hotel discounts to free golf and the general insurance/benefits as well.

ConsThe company is so big that procedures and management often get in the way of being able to perform your job the right/most efficient way.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry not to micromanage people so much, it limits your employees from doing their jobs.

Experience paid off and would work again for such a great company!

Accounting Professional (Former Employee)

I worked at Omni Hotels full-time for more than 3 years

Prosgreat employees, the staff gives all they can for their job. People put effort in their jobs and motivate each other.

Consconstant EC turnover, hard for a employee to keep adjusting to change with management styles. There is some issues with EC treating the mid-level management negatively, and its hard to promote their management styles when they don't appreciate others.

Advice to Senior ManagementTry and fill the gap between EC and staffing, change HR and Accounting to answer to Corporate, not the GM. this will stop conflict of interest the GM can push onto both HR and accounting.

okay

Prosclean place to work. If you enjoy working indoors and in the hospitality field then you would enjoy this company.

ConsPoor management skills due to resort just opening up. A lot of moving around and management didn't have a clue. Employees treated like a dime a dozen.

Advice to Senior ManagementHire managers that have a clue. Recommend management courses and leadership training.

I just don't know anymore

Prefer Not to Say (Current Employee)
ChampionsGate, FL

I have been working at Omni Hotels full-time for more than 5 years

ProsA lot of nice people, get to meet new and exciting people all the time from all over the world. Great scenery.

ConsI feel that only the upper management and those who kiss a lot of butt are the ones that are most important, even though they are npt the ones who work the hardest, or deal one on one with the guests.

Advice to Senior ManagementShow your employees that they are appreciated! A small thank you will go a VERY long way.
