    Pros

    Flexible with my schedule
    Friendly environment
Management was kind and willing to help me learn the business
    I was overpaid

    Cons

The building was 75% empty while I was there and my cubicle was on the fringe of the rest of the employees. In an attempt to save energy they kept most of the lights off in areas that didn't have any employees. Since I was on the fringe my cubicle was only partially lit.

    Pros

Very fast pace environment. You will never be bored. This was a great experience in an interesting environment.

    Cons

Culture is not very diverse. Contracted for nearly one year. They always seem to hire only contract for this position. Although it was a contract to hire position, the department manager has no control over the conversion and was not able to get my conversion approved by upper management.

Current Employee - Product Management  in  Santa Clara, CA
Current Employee - Product Management in Santa Clara, CA

    Pros

Products competitive with best in world, leading to tier-1 customer interest/demand

    Cons

    Where to begin...
    1. Expectations are ridiculous. You could work 16 hour days and there would be no appreciation or pat on the back. Every product or project is 'critical' and responses to management or customers must be sameday or sooner, regardless of the amount of work required to respond.
    2. The CEO is a figurehead and spends his time asking who owns each issue. seriously, there must be more important things for him to do.
    3. The level of micro-management is both insulting and discouraging. Let people do the jobs you hired them for
    4. Morale is ultra-low and people are trying to figure out their next career move, and openly talking about it.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Hire some experienced, talented people from outside excluding micron and aptina. This includes execs

    Pros

Salary is in-line with the industry
    Free dinners.

    Cons

Technology is not cutting edge. There is always Sony which beats at it and OVT always loses.
It is a Sweat shop. Managers expects you to work 24/7. They have implemented timed badge out system like large companies. The difference is OVT actually looks at who worked less than 10 hours. If you work from home at nights which happens all the time, it is ignored. Managers are not knowledgeable.
Forget about the salary, you don't feel appreciated in this company. I have worked in 4 other companies including Micron, this is hands down the worst company I worked for.
Please don't make a mistake to stick with it. You will have better opportunities outside.
