Pros – -The ESPP plan is set up to very easily to be buying stock for 50% of its current value. This only works with the stock being volatile, so you're hoping for the company to tank every few years.
-Once you prove yourself as competent, you can successfully interact with other people in the company outside of your group. Until then, you're basically on the outside of the club.
-Schedules aren't too strict (except when business is bad and the CEO stands in the lobby seeing who comes in when and giving them grief; Not exaggerating, this actually happens) and you can actually use your vacation
Cons – -The company is run very cheaply. Everything basically has to go through the CTO
-Talent is very spotty, some good people, more really bad people, and a bunch of people in the lower to middle range
-Company is absurd with getting information from other groups. Have heard many times, "that's proprietary"
-The company keeps a lot of the people who actually do work overseas in China or Taiwan. This makes things very difficult for those who don't speak Mandarin to get information, especially because most of the overseas "co-workers" won't give you the time of day.
Advice to Senior Management – -Drop the nepotism. Seriously.
-Broaden your horizons for people to hire. Bringing everyone here on an H1-B visa or picking them from Aptina/Micron doesn't really bring in the kind of outside thinking that would actually help the company.
-Purge the people that don't actually do anything. Have the Bob's go through and say "What is it you say you do here?" You'll get rid of a bunch of dead weight

Current Employee – been working at OmniVision Technologies
Pros – Many projects to do. You will not be bored. Salary is in-line with industry. Company is fairly generous with bonuses and stock grants for a publicly-traded firm.
Cons – Projects poorly planned so regularly miss schedule. They will often try to salvage things by throwing more engineers at the job but the result will be 50-50.
Advice to Senior Management – Could use less bureaucracy and paranoia about employees stealing from you.
