Pros
Company reputation and leadership in the advertising industry. Diversified portfolio of marketing and advertising related companies. Good client base with diversified roster.
Cons
Too big a company to get noticed at certain career levels. Loss of an account usually means cut backs to keep the stock and bottomline in tack.
Advice to Senior Management
Look beyond management to the "worker bees" withi in the organization to get a realistic picture of the work that is done at that level.
Pros
-Good environment
-High spirit of working culture
-Learn new things
Cons
-Some process need to be modified more easier
Advice to Senior Management
More feedback to employee.
Pros
boss is great, vacation days and days off are nice
Cons
little pay lots of work little training
Advice to Senior Management
we need more training and guidance
Pros
One of world's largest agency network which provides the bargaining power during negotiations.
Cons
There's incapable senior management within the group which leads to poor management decisions and leadership. There's poor recognition of work and there's no set process in employee performance evaluation and compensation review. You need to ask to get it.
Advice to Senior Management
A strong HR process is recommended to improve overall employee morale and motivation in the organisatoin.
Acknowledge employee contribution to the organisation beyond just lip service.
Pros
They have a huge network.
Cons
Very corporate atmosphere at Omnicom Group. The agencies are more laid back.
Pros
Good company to have on your CV in terms of outsourcing expertise and international span.
Cons
An international company on paper. A very German, very hierarchical company when you take a closer look. The company has experienced high growth and suffers from a lack of ability to implement sustainable structures. Management style is highly unprofessional with very slow processes and a culture of not keeping promises. More important than hitting goals is to be liked by senior management.
Advice to Senior Management
1. check out www.google.com
2. type 'meritocracy' and 'entrepreneurial'
3. try to understand and apply
Pros
Great place ...client client client dictates everything , exceptional, talented ,hardworking, supporting place to work , good benefits , vacation time and 401k and profit sharing
Cons
Risky business, client client client dictates everything , your stability depends on clients performance, Client decision is final either way client wins. Less growth opportunity
Advice to Senior Management
great job , great job in keeping clients , generating revenue and knowing when to drop a Client, great vision , thinker and a humble person
Pros
For the most part, management at Omnicom seems to care about you. Many people have worked with the company for a long time. Feels like a small place to work even though it's technically big.
Cons
Communication about changes in upper management is not always the best. Director-level personnel sometimes are not the strongest in their field but are retained due to their seniority or connections.
Advice to Senior Management
Keep the lines of communications more open to all agencies within the Omnicom family and encourage agencies to do the same... This should apply to all news - positive or negative. Given that one of Omnicom's (and Omnicom agencies') strengths is a familial atmosphere, employees should not be kept in the dark about bad news such as layoffs and staff changes. They should be given the proper information in better timing so that they can either support the company or make decisions regarding their own careers. In addition, raises and promotions should be given based on merit and in proper timing, and not so often merely as a reaction to an employee's stated desire to leave the company.
Pros
Fun place to work. Never boring, work a great cast of employees. They do a good job at cross training employees so everyone learns more
Cons
Their pay is FAR below industry norms. If you do a good job, then you're just rewarded with more work.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay people what they're worth and the turnover wouldn't be as high. Its a shame, because otherwise it would be a terrific place to work.
Pros
Pay is pretty good. Senior management leaves the troops to fend for themselves.
Cons
Dont have a pulse on what is really happening.
Advice to Senior Management
Break down silos and create stronger teams without excluding those who are not favorites of management.
