Pros
The people who work here are amazing, very nice, and fun to work with. The work ethic is very high, the people are very smart, and are able to accomplish things much quicker than their peers in the industry. The benefits are second to none.
Cons
Opportunities for advancement are limited since it is a somewhat maturing startup - most middle management positions are filled with no changes in site since most managers are also very young in their career.
Advice to Senior Management
Pay is not competitive to industry norms, middle management is too young to have any hope for solid advancement.
Pros
No idea was wrong or to big
Cons
People in Orem think the entire High Tech world is just like Orem
Advice to Senior Management
Be proud to be a WINNER but understand that WINNERS sometimes lose too so have the ability to know that "things change and you need to change with them"
Pros
Omniture has a very strong product mix, they work hard to keep the technology on the leading edge, nice to see Adobe investing in the company
Cons
consistent communication with the sales force did not occur, comp plans were always delivered months after the start of the fiscal year
Advice to Senior Management
definitely start by fixing the issue with comp plans, continue to push the product roadmap and work to improve the lines of communication
Pros
Wide exposure to clients and how they're doing business. Helping them to solve problems. Great products that provide powerful solutions.
Cons
The consulting team has really declined in morale and innovation since the current VP of consulting came in. He has sucked the life out of the team, and rules by fear. They do not value and keep the best consultants. Its not good.
Advice to Senior Management
Get a new leader in consulting.
Pros
fun parties
nice people
decent leadership
okay benefits
decent about expenses
good customer summit every year
paychecks went out on time
Cons
poor pay
snobby management
unrealistic goals
convoluded sales plan
sales plans not sent out until year is 7/8ths over
ego-mania-central
Advice to Senior Management
chill out and try to be nicer to people. the egos are quite out of control at times and doesn't help
Pros
Fast, innovative and fun place to work (pre-Adobe), benefits, decent location, cutting edge product and talented co-workers . . .
Cons
The fun has left after the Adobe acquisition. No more large parties, and you are the red-headed step child that Adobe employees didn't want.
Advice to Senior Management
You should have stayed the course to $1B and not bailed when Adobe came knocking. We all bought in, but in the end - it was not what we invested in. Sell outs.
Pros
Great place to work, relaxing environment and friendly work staff. I would recommend to anyone looking to work for Omniture to take the opportunity. It won't be regretted.
Cons
There are really no cons to working with Omniture. Recently there was a cut back of employees with the Adobe purchase of the company, but I am confident the goals and values of Omniture will be maintained.
Advice to Senior Management
My advice to management would be to be mindful of the employees that are left after the cutbacks. Don't value them lightly.
Pros
Omniture has good benefits, smart people, organized sales team, good engineering staff, and an aggressive pay structure if you are a performer.
Cons
Omniture has way too many sales and sales engineers; there is little to no advancement opportunities to move up in the organization.
Advice to Senior Management
Micromanaging people only leads to resentment and a poor level of trust among employees. Sales is spread too thin.
Pros
A very dynamic and vibrant environment
Great HR Policies like reward and recognition program, time off policies, understanding supervisor
Great People. One of their mantras is to not hire mean people and they stick to this mantra
Cons
Not as many opportunities to grow within the organization
Compensation is sub-standard
HR policies for international employees can be better
Advice to Senior Management
To be truly global, they need to have better policies for international employees and they need to groom home grown talent for senior positions
Pros
*Work with large clients, so understanding of business models and ways to approach solutions is very interesting.
*Colleagues are sharp, hard working and friendly.
*Products [mostly] are top notch.
*Opportunities to become expert in multiple products.
Cons
*Long hours (avg. 52-56 hours per week).
*Compensation is low as it relates to responsibilities.
Advice to Senior Management
*Work/life balance and compensation should really be reviewed. There's a lot going for you as an organization, and you have many very talented and hard-working employees. Stop boasting record revenue earnings and not adequately rewarding those who have helped you get there.
