    Pros

    good product, good people (but that is changing)

    Cons

    more politics now that Switzerland is exerting control

    focus on the basics, let people do the good work they are trained to.

    Pros

    Salary and benefits, skilled and talented employees.

    Cons

    Secretive, chauvinistic, extremely hierarchical, old-fashioned.

    Advice to Management

    Share relevant information with your staff. No huge suprises, such as elimination of your entire supply chain organization.

    Pros

    Regular paycheck. Chance to travel. Some of the people are very professional and interested in making a difference.

    Cons

    Lack of communication to employees. No clear perspective on succession planning. Low morale due to constant threats of cost cutting or layoff.

    Monopoly in Canada
    Products of good quality

    Management is simply terrible
    Very unhealthy place to work (psycologically speaking)
    No vision, no creativity

    Centralization was probably the wort idea for this company, markets are local for each plant

    Pros

    -langanhaltende Rohstoff-Vorkommen
    -Technologieführer
    -starke Kostenführerschaft
    -ausgefeilte Logistik
    -weit in Wertschöpfung der Kunden integriert
    -enge Bindung der Kunden
    -Good Citizen

    Cons

    -Verkauf fast ausschliesslich über Mengenvolumina
    -starke (60%) Abhängigkeit von Papierindustrie, die selbst mit hohen Produktionskapazitäten zu kämpfen hat, dies schon seit mehr als 10 Jahren, führt zu einem enormen Preisdruck, der an die Lieferanten weitergegeben wird
    -im Ergebnis also ein Oligopol sowohl auf der Verkaufsseite, da nur sehr wenige gleichwertige Wettbewerber, und ebenso auf der Kundenseite, da nur wenige Papierkonzerne

    Advice to Management

    -zu hohe Abhängigkeit von wenigen im Management (welche z.T. keine Erfahrung ausserhalb des Unternehmens haben)
