I worked at OneWest Bank full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work environment in my department. Driven staff with a cohesive team. Managers set the standards and everyone was held accountable.

    Cons

Not all staff had same attitude. There were some employees who did not care and would hurt team morale. Long hours were standard.

    Advice to Management

Not much other than to keep staff abreast of major ownership changes and assure certain workers that their jobs would be kept.

    Pros

Beniefits are decent, professional enviornment and they do what they say. My most recent manager was supportive and was an advocate of each member of our team.

    Cons

Well, it's a bank and these days banks go througha lot of changes. My department was sold to a bank and entire department was laid off. But they were ththoughtful and honest enough to let us know 4-6 months before last day of work and gave incentive to stay and finish the work in our department.

I have been working at OneWest Bank full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good salary and great fellow employees. Awaiting regulatory approval of merger with CIT.

    Cons

Bank terminated 85% of the employees in Austin and made those retained very uneasy about their future. Many executives jumping ship. Lost lots of good people.

    Advice to Management

Make a decision about people left in Austin and deliver that message.

  11. OneWest Bank was a fabulous company to work for, until they sold 95% of their mortgage servicing accounts.
