I have been working at OpenText full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Working from is great but that means lots of travel. The work changes often so there are constant new challenges; you never get comfortable and feel you can stay there. That can be either bad or good depending on your personality. Get to work with some really great people across the globe. Most colleagues are smart, competent, fun and engaged. Most everyone has a entrepreneurial attitude.

    Cons

Never comfortable with employment status. Too many other companies purchased causes duplication of roles. Lack of quality communication causes uneasiness.

    Advice to Management

Work on better communication and provide stability in the workplace.

    Pros

OK benefits, and good vacation/time off. Some good products and people.

    Cons

Has gone from a company that values employees to a bring in the next group culture. A jumble of overlapping technologies and responsibilities. If you aren't field sales, you don't matter.

    Advice to Management

Get the company and technology back to where it is relevant, current, and not so dependent on SAP to carry it. Have you heard of marketing your products?

I have been working at OpenText full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Sorry I cannot think of any.

    Cons

Terrible leadership, zero focus on product innovation or integrating all the legacy products in the stack via acquisition, and the EIM thing is not a vision but a pipe dream that is totally divorced from the reality of the company's product portfolio. Halfway through this fiscal year, over 2/3 of the sales reps had sold less than $100K in total revenue and less than 10 reps were on pace to make quota. Yet somehow, the company keeps reporting earnings growth. Virtually every rep in the entire company is currently interviewing elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Please explain how the company continues to report record earnings while over 90% of the sales force is under quota.

    Pros

Laid back work environment, freedom to learn.

    Cons

limited resources to actually perform / achieve any goals. Always seem to hit the wall early in projects. Never seem to quite get it done.

    Advice to Management

    Focus focus focus.
