I have been working at OpenWorks full-time (less than an year)

    Pros

Longevity and quality focused in terms of the types of customers that they service (mid to large facilities) and franchise owners that are business minded versus looking for part time job. The Operations team does a great job in the initial training and support of the owner/operators. The Sales team are professional and have a great management team that is respectful, honest and straight forward in ensuring the best results and buy in from the team up and down the line. Key focus is to improve results by consistently making clients facilities cleaner, safer and healthier. Excellent career opportunity and is in growth mode which means more promotional opportunities within the organization.

    Cons

Although the best talent this company has probably seen in its history, employees/management are fairly young in tenure.

I have been working at OpenWorks full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

The company has provided opportunities for advancement within by evaluating and promoting top talent. A culture of performance where high level talent can find challenge, growth, and upward mobility

    Cons

With growth comes challenge. The challenge for OpenWorks has been finding the right staff to develop, refine and implement strategies to provide for continual growth. Turnover has resulted from ensuring staff meet these demands and support the culture of performance. However, the senior management team has significant tenure, and the CEO has been successfully manning the helm for over 30 years

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Continue to invest in top talent, execute on existing strategies, and set measurable goals for company performance that stretch the teams but are within reach. Top performers strive to achieve and will look elsewhere for employment if goals are unrealistic/unachievable.

    Pros

Lots of opportunity for vertical mobility in all areas of the company- sales, operations, administration, customer service.
Very progressive with expanding product offerings and implementing modern technology to maximize return and efficiency in the field.

    Cons

It's an ever changing environment. That being said, the initiatives make sense and are almost always beneficial for the team. There can be a perception that things aren't changing, however I believe it's because the management team does a good job of not cluttering the team with "half-baked" ideas.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the culture of internal promotions, the more you empower your staff, the better our environment will be!

    Pros

Great company to work for. Company has been in business over 30 years and is continuing to grow and is committed to creating careers, not just jobs, for its' employees. The culture and work environment is positive. Very transparent, you always know where you stand and how you are doing. It is great to see how dedicated everyone is to developing the franchise owners and satisfying customers.

    Cons

As with any company you have to always to be willing to work hard in order to see rewards and and be considered for promotions. If you work hard and have open communication with your manager you will succeed.

Benefits are pricey - but this is typical for a company of this size.
