    Pros

Flexibility to work from home, intelligent people, good customer based solution and can give a very tough competition to competitors.

    Cons

Hiring too many contractors unnecessary, should train internal resources to do the job. Increment not at its best have to prove to capabilities.

    Advice to Management

Need to check at the root level to see how is team performing and reason of loosing some big opportunity

    Pros

    Great work flexibility and location.

    Cons

Poor salary increment, less than inflation rate . Focus on hiring new staff with higher pay instead of focusing on developing existing employee. Poor talent development program.

    Advice to Management

Focus on salary package and talent development.

    Pros

Some really great people, a relaxed and enjoyable place to work on a day to day basis most of the time. Some strong products and IP. Interesting projects and technologies at times. Some ambitious plans for the future and good internal initiatives.

    Cons

Not rewarding great staff, despite being the companies strongest asset. Huge amount of talented engineers have left over the past 18 months due to lack of pay increments/promotion opportunities/general frustration with companies stagnation. A sin in the current tech market as they are having to be externally replaced at a much higher cost to the company, leaving with them very valuable knowledge on specialised technologies and products. A lot of work still being done with awful proprietary language (DSD), especially in Professional Services department.

    Advice to Management

Value and reward talent, offer a working environment that people want to come into every day.

    Pros

    1. Great colleagues here locally with good team chemistry. 2. There "was" very little politics going around. 3. Social club events are fun. Promotes relationship building and builds team bonding. 4. Good team work among all stakeholders in a project (Solution Architects, PM, SolCons, DBA, etc)

    Cons

    1. Travel benefits could be better. 2. Managers need to appreciate and value talents. 3. Can be bureaucratic at times. 4. Increment could be better.

    Advice to Management

Work on promoting internally and value your employees. Openet used to provide competitive salary package - but not anymore it seems.

    Pros

Great engineers. Can be challenging, exciting work. Many different technologies that continually evolve. Good benefits.

    Cons

Poor career paths and upward mobility. More often than not people are hired in above rather than being promoted internally. Many of the great engineers have moved on due to stagnant remuneration and career advancement. HQ gets more attention than other locations. Career advancement more likely there than other locations. Top heavy company. It used to be primarily an engineering company. Many years ago it grew significantly and ended up having far too many management positions and resources for the number of engineers. Information sharing is a big challenge. Still very silo'd knowledge.

    Advice to Management

Focus on reigniting employee passion and finding more motivating remuneration incentives.

    Pros

-Flexible, which is great for people with young families -Good social club -Good people throughout who work hard and don't do too much politics

    Cons

-Lack of investment in training options in comparison to other tech companies -Lack of investment in facilities. A simple example is our carpet is a carry-over from previous tenants covers in stains. The canteen is drab and depressing. People should not feel like they're in the soviet union when they're at work, a little investment would make the place bright and inviting -Internal comms can be poor at times, leading to rumours taking flight

    Advice to Management

Invest more in your staff and facilities and I really think you'll see good results. You have a good team, so spend a bit more cash..

    Pros

Overall good place to work. Hands on environment and a clear direction from the CEO of where the company is heading in the future.

    Cons

Lack leadership in certain departments that might lead to unclear development growth

    Pros

    * you can make a mistake and not be fired for it - you can learn from it and improve * they have some top notch engineers and brains who are mostly allowed to grown and improve the products * i have helpful and supportive management

    Cons

    * Lost some of the can-do attitude from 5 years ago * The groups are separate and competitive to the point of almost being detrimental to the clients * appreciate more funding in areas such as hardware labs

    Advice to Management

Better commission structure and training would go a long way. instead of encouraging competition, encourage all groups to be cooperative to help the end goal - the client

    I worked at Openet full-time

    Pros

    - Good and caring management - Chances to grow from technical perspective - Plenty of project exposures - Decent working location

    Cons

    - Products and solutions can be more mature - Limited career growth for off-shore employees

    Advice to Management

Management should focus on career growth for local / off-shore employees and develop a long term plan to get employees certified
