Pros
small company, quick responses and small decision process.
Cons
Openwave is not a good on employee recognition.
Pros
great place to work, i like it
Cons
too many people to know everyone
Pros
Nice co-workers. Good location. Great existing customers.
Cons
Flawed strategy. Too much politics.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on company
Pros
Niche space, strong legacy, good work life balance, had options to work from home while meeting your goals
Cons
No real innovation, bad execution, inefficient R&D, no sense of direction/strategy from upper management
Advice to Senior Management
cannot outsource your core strengths and need to do a much better job at execution while hiring more capable business managers. If they screw up, then the company is bound to go downhill.
Pros
- Smart people and good products
- Good benefits
- Nice office location with free gym facilities
- Good customer base
Cons
- Lack of growth opportunities
- Lack of training
- Need focus on few products and better execution of product strategy
Advice to Senior Management
- Provide growth and training opportunities for employees
- Management needs stronger technical leadership
- Continue to innovate and focus on product quality
Pros
Competitive salary, benefits package. Good onsite gym, outdoor pool. Cutting edge industry.
Cons
Not as much innovation (although some promising developments recently). Lofy ideas, with little execution. Too much executive churn in last 5 years.
Pros
Good People & benefits, good technology
Cons
shrinking market size, no loyalty
Pros
Huge opportunity to learn because you will be moving from one project to another in 3-4 months
Cons
Management team is not intelligent enough to set the direction of the company
Advice to Senior Management
Be focused and respect employee
Pros
Some interesting work and challenges, good salary and benefits. Some good people.
Cons
very demanding customer base, employee burnout, long hours, company shrinking, long history of upper level management churn, though more stable last couple of years. Large amount of engineering outsourced; problematic. IMHO will continue to struggle and decline. Very little employee training or general education other than product-specific.
Advice to Senior Management
yadayada
Pros
Pay reasonably well, high tech, you can work fairly independent, are in good market provided products and solutions get R&D attention.
Cons
Company has lost its edge a high tech supplier with cutting edge niche products and solutions. Have 'milked' cashcow products until it was too late without new 'stars'. Staff generally not treated with highest respect; as they say 'use, abuse, throw away' or 'hire & fire' mentality..... Company is an accellerating downward spiral.
Advice to Senior Management
Focus on the long term. Entrepreneurship from the early days has disappeared. Dont let productgroups 'drive' the company. Weigh financial targets against the companies' solutions and customers, so you don't get disappointed later and have to lay off (the wrong) staff...
