I have been working at Opinion Access part-time for less than a year

    Pros

My customer service experience improved and communicating with people over the phone became easier.

    Cons

Not fair to workers, doesn't permit them to join a union. Employees were preparing to strike.
You were only trained for one survey, and they won't assign you to another for a long time.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Train your employees to ALL of the surveys, so you don't have to keep looking for others. Letting your employees unionize isn't a bad idea either.

I worked at Opinion Access full-time for more than a year

    Pros

steady work when I started there. work is seasonal. gets slow at times. would call it down time.
worked on a variety of projects. if you have some experience in telemarketing looking to find a job soon and you don't mind calling people on the phone.

    Cons

the slow periods. when there are only certain projects for people who are trained in specific work. such as bilinguals. the pay rate not that great

Former Employee - Telephone Interviewer in New York, NY

I worked at Opinion Access full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Fairly easy job ( you just sit and call people to complete surveys)
    Get paid weekly !
    Fixed hours and days
They hire practically anybody that can type, speak and listen
    Long hours

    Cons

They hire practically anybody...makes for an interesting work atmosphere
    Long hours
    Kinda boring
    Rude people on the phone

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When training, try not to psyche people out about what the job is really about. There is no need to be condescending, loud and obnoxious during training. Other than that, keep at it.

Current Employee - Bilingual Phone Operator  in  Long Island City, NY
Current Employee - Bilingual Phone Operator in Long Island City, NY

I have been working at Opinion Access part-time for less than a year

    Pros

immediate hire, easy interview process just pay attention, bilinguals make $9 per hour and $8 when conducting english surveys, no strict dresscodes (use common sense people), some of their staff are very professonal and helpful and truly want you to succseed. everyone is given a fair chance, but its up to you to take it...

    Cons

the interview process should be better at filtering people that cant read/write, some people dont take their work seriously some act and look a mess... also the office is kinda dark and depressing,

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

sometype of uniform should be in effect, that might help some people get into a more professonal mindset, also the place could use better lighting, the dim lighting is depressing and tiresome..

I worked at Opinion Access part-time for less than a year

    Pros

You are paid weekly and have the opportunity to add shifts

    Cons

Training is somewhat helpfull, depressing and UNSAFE(dangerous) environment , schedule is subject to be cancelled often(12 to 28 hrs per week-maybe), minimum wage, payroll issues( constant errors-up to and including not getting paid correctly; if at all!), high turnover, everyone is considered PART/TIME-meaning NO benefits, medical or otherwise!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Allow more workers to be FULL TIME, provide medical benefits and give a higher wage(recently minimum wage was increased-but company needs to upgrade and new accountants so that payroll issues are addressed and RESOLVED!)

Current Employee - Telephone Interviewer in Long Island City, NY

I have been working at Opinion Access part-time for less than a year

    Pros

    * Gain people skills
    * Easiest job in the world to get if you know how to type, read, and follow directions

    Cons

    * They send you home if you aren't as good as their top employees
    * If you show up late or on time you still might not be guaranteed a cubicle= work

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    * First come, first served should only be applied when you're giving handouts. A cubicle for your employees shouldn't be one of them.
