    I have been working at Opportunities for Positive Growth

    Pros

    The best part of working here is having the opportunity to spend time with the clients who are receiving services through OPG. Helping to guide them through independent living and community integration is very rewarding. OPG also reimburses $0.24 per mile while on shift.

    Cons

    Communication with lower management is the worst- They tell you to do something and then get mad that you did you did it, they don't accept responsibility for their wrong doing but instead punish their support staff for what happens, staff can email and communicate EVERYTHING that needs to be communicated but the lower management won't respond back for weeks and then get mad because they weren't informed of what was going on. The lower management has been known to be controlling, demanding, hostile, and threatening towards support staff for miscommunications. Upper management does nothing about this.
    There are no raises, no vacation days, no sick days (you're expected to work regardless of how sick you are), no respect for professional boundaries on the lower managements part, and little training. What little training that is received is disputed between upper and lower management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Provide raises, vacation days, and sick days. Unpaid sick and vacation days would even be fine but the support staff needs to be rewarded for continuously carrying out the vision for OPG. PLEASE, get a handle on your Quality Enhancement Specialist's.

    Pros

    The customers are great and co-workers are great. Employees strive for the same goals, to provide great care to customers.

    Cons

    No pay raises, no vacation time or pay, no personal days, no communication from management and management lies to employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Communicate more, treat employees & customers with respect, stop lying to employees and listen to employees concerns.

    I worked at Opportunities for Positive Growth

    Pros

    The job is very rewarding. The compensation is acceptable. The upper management is very pleasant. Most employees are nice people.

    Cons

    The job is demanding. The lower management has problems communicating. There are not open lines of communication. New employees are not trained thoroughly enough.

    With better communication with managers, this could be a great place to work.
