    Pros

The company won a Gartner award for the first solution it ever delivered - the Montgomery County MD 311 call center. The management is obsessed with providing holistic value to customers. They keep their promises and commitments to the employees and subcontractors and always follow through. Management shows appreciation to the employees through competitive pay and good benefits vs some patronizing gestures. Long term vision.

    Cons

Not enough business including contracting vehicles or commercial business. The reporting structure not always perfectly defined and/or documented for ease of reference. Although the company is data driven there could be some improvement there.

    Advice to Management

Experiment more.Do not be afraid to make incremental steps even with less than perfect information. Trust your customer to make small mistakes. Improve the feedback cycle between BD, delivery, and HR.

    Pros

Easy work, flexible schedule with most stuff, people are easy going, and holiday parties/Happy Hours were great!

    Cons

Unorganized management and little to no training. Hardly any insight from management most of the time. In most cases you are just sitting around doing nothing and when you do get stuff to work on, it always just seems like its just busy work or unrelated to the position you were hired to do. Little to no communication between management and employees

    Advice to Management

Provide some training to employees and invest in the people. Choose a technology you want to stick to and stop bouncing around which ones will potentially make you more money.

    Pros

The people are great. Everyone is pretty laid back. It is a somewhat casual environment (casual Fridays where everyone participates, semi casual the rest of the week). As long as you are doing the work that needs to be done to the best of your ability, that is what matters. It is evident to every employee that the company is growing at a rapid pace, which is very exciting. This brings a sense of pride to what we all do.

    Cons

This company has grown so much over the past few years it seems that many people are wearing several different hats. This is great if you are the type of person that likes to take on extra projects and responsibilities and expand your skills, but can create some confusion. In general, there are many ways in which the company is still operating as if it were still a small business. It works for the moment; however, this could cause problems as the company continues to expand.

    Advice to Management

    Define roles more clearly

    Pros

Great experience, open door culture. Can speak with senior managers on a daily basis. Coop was a job and a learning experience.

    Cons

many companies within one make it hard to communicate.

  7. Co-Op/ Internship Experience

I worked at Opus Group as an intern (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The Milwaukee office has a fun work environment, lots of interaction with senior level staff, and a very open-door policy if you need help with any aspect of a project.

    Cons

There was a lot of mundane day-to-day work at the internship/ entry level. Some project managers are definitely more knowledgeable and better to work with than others.
