I have been working at Oracle

    Pros

    - Longevity in the Market
    - Broad Product Offering
    - Good work/life balance
    - Easy to manage your schedule

    Cons

    - Taking away compensation elements from those who are making their company money
    - Executive management focused on margins and their paycheck
    - Tenured employees leaving for competitors at alarming rates; management doesn't seem to care
    - Too many products which creates confusion with the sales team
    - Too many sales reps involved in deals - needs to be closely managed to be effective
    - Focus on Fusion/Cloud - forget about what meets the customer's requirements

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    - Focus on your employees and stop taking money out of their pockets
    - Raises each year, especially with the margins the company is seeing, would be appreciated
    - No career path is defined...you have to do it yourself

I have been working at Oracle

    Pros

I am sure other departments are good as all benefits look great, but our department managment makes it sound like they don't have any budget and will pay you peanuts for work of gold.
You can work from home. good trainings from Oracle. access to self study trainings.

    Cons

On demand (OMCS) is worst. I am sure Oracle itself will be good. Worst salary of my career..i finally agreed with the stingy manager as if he would pay from pocket, because of green card processing in EB2 category which didn't happened. You would support 1000's environments in hosting services without any reward or recognition....

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 8 years)

    Pros

The benefits are great and the gym at my facility is pretty awesome! The sick time is great as well, as it's pretty much unlimited, with your Manager's approval.

    Cons

Nothing thus far, well maybe except for the fact that the raises are pretty poor all around. Unless you know someone within, it's very difficult to grow or transfer out to another department.

I worked at Oracle as an intern (less than an year)

    Pros

Upper management very friendly, very flexible PTO policies. As an intern i can't really attest to personal growth just yet, however the groups I worked with were very friendly and it was easy to communicate with business partners around the globe. Everyone is very friendly.

    Cons

Typical large company feel, difficult to move around red tape and work directly with senior management. Career opportunities could be improved, but great company as a launch pad into further career.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

Work from Home, training (anything you want to learn you can learn).

    Cons

Siloed, if you came over as an acquisition you sort of stay an independent group within the larger organization. Although this could be a Pro for some.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I would like to see some diversity, limited ethnics in mid to upper level management outside of Indian/Asians.

I worked at Oracle full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Making money, building your credibility internally. Also, being a successful Oracle salespeople is regarded positively in the rest of the industry ie If you 'make your bones' at Oracle, you will likely find more doors opened to you with other tech companies.

    Cons

High pressure in sales: if you are a Hunter-Killer, you won't mind the relentless emphasis to exceed your quarterly numbers as much. If you prefer to focusing mostly on your own success, you'll be rewarded.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Why bother? That's like trying to teach a pig to sing. Oracle leadership does what it does, has become what it is, and there is no pressing financial gain to changing the way Oracle treats its people. Product first, people third.

I have been working at Oracle full-time (more than an year)

    Pros

Working for Oracle has made my resume more attractive to recruiters. Company values, compensation and training are pretty much industry standard.

    Cons

Work-life balance depends on the position and division you work for. Benefits are decent, consistent with other big companies. Promotions are slow coming and the eligibility criteria is not that clear, this is probably also dependent on the division you work for.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Something more could be done to retain good talent.
