    Pros

Personally, I had a great manager however I saw enough to know that mine was the exception to the rule. Everything is run by "the book" as policies are evenly applied.

    Cons

It's a massive and impersonal company. Some upper management were micromanagers. The company acquires technology companies and then does mostly maintenance. Very little R&D or innovation takes place there.

    Pros

    Travel funds
    Good online courses
    Good benefits and education reimbursement
Tech company with a lot of growth this year

Oracle is a great company with a bright future, and the way they treat their employees actually works in their favor. It is a good position if you have nowhere else to go.

    Cons

Extreme hours - 120-140 hours in a week.
    Depending on role, no overtime.
    Limited growth potential
You do the work of your manager. All of it.

    Advice to Management

You are acquiring companies left and right, and you are losing talent because of it. There is people within those companies that are the reason you purchased them. Entertain them and don't lose them. Cut jobs and bring raises for those that do the work.

    Pros

Above average employee benefits. Solid company that will never be acquired. Products are top notch.

    Cons

Internal processes are overly complex and time consuming, regardless of the role you have within the organization. Customers either like Oracle, or dislike Oracle. There's no gray area.

    Advice to Management

Simplify everything. Employees will embrace the change.

    Pros

Oracle is a great company to work for. I always felt a lot of pride to be working for such a known and respected company. Through acquisitions, Oracle now has a collection of "best of breed" products.
Oracle is very supportive of working remote/home based. This is a huge benefit.
I came to Oracle through an acquisiton which was extremly well managed and the acquired employees were treated fairly and with respect. Very few layoff resulted during our acqusition.

    Cons

The Company is so large...it often takes years to understand how to "navigate" internally.
Too much outsourcing, to the detriment of being able to get your job done because you are dependent on functions that need to be completed by offshore folks who have no sense of urgency or priority. Their understanding of the process is so limited, it often inhibits productivity onshore.
You can spend days trying to find something you need on the internal websites.
    Reorgs are common and often.

    Advice to Management

Oracle has a lot of great people who work hard and love the Company. Loyalty should be recognized and rewarded. Often it's those that make waves that are heard first, but those folks have zero loyalty to the Company and only to themselves.

Big company experieince and ability to learn a lot real fast. This is really a great springboard to a career in tech sales.

    Cons

pay is very poor and not even close to industry averages. figuring out comp and territory issues can take months and months and months to resolve.

    Pros

Good work-life balance & relaxed working environment.

    Cons

Too much corporate red-tape, the usual.

    Advice to Management

Too many old people, outdated, need newer and fresher blood to bring life back into the company.
