I have been working at Oracle (More than a year)

    Pros

gym, not going under anytime soon,

    Cons

    location, management, turnover, compensation, bureaucracy

    Advice to Management

Please please please train your OD managers. With all the turnover of both reps and managers, quality of managers has absolutely plummeted. There are people in those roles who should not be managing anyone but are there only because of tenure and desperation. The reps are ready, willing, and able to work but managers and VPs are absolutely killing culture, motivation, and ultimately productivity. Oracle Direct - You are going to keep losing people until your managers are made accountable. and better.

    Pros

It's a great way to build your resume after college and everyone knows Oracle and it is likely any company you would've liked to work in the past has been swallowed up by Oracle and thus their tech is available to play with.

    Cons

Compensation is horrible compared to similar tech companies. There is no work/life balance and you are expected to work nights, weekends and holidays. Wait until you work there for 5 years and you realize you've been on call for 5 years.... Managers are the worse and depending on the manager you get you might have a great or horrible experience at Oracle but never expect your manager to come to your rescue if that means putting his own neck on the line.

    Advice to Management

Value your team and give them opportunities to grow and develop as individuals. Don't think that you are the best there is out there. Be humble. Do good. Respect others if you want to get their respect. Office politics don't work when you get into the weeds on a friday night at 2am to resolve issues with your team and provide the best quality of service to your customers.
