    Pros

Good family-work balance, benefits, mobility. Some engineers are top-notch. The company is so big and the technology stack is so wide, that you can apply pretty much find a job in any area you like.

    Cons

many engineers are just cruising, difficult to push the agenda. You'll face a lot of not-invented-here attitude. Pay increases are minimal.

    Advice to Management

Approve new initiatives, be more agile, and let engineers build-up non-Oracle technologies

    Pros

My work experience was not bad as I did learn a lot about my domain, on how to sell ideas internally, and how to help ship products out on time. I also got the experience of working with sales, marketing, and support organizations that helped to round out my experience of how a software company works. Work-life balance was excellent most of the time.

    Cons

The company is slow and bureaucratic. Nothing moves in the product organization unless the product executive, Thomas Kurian, approves. Ideas don't seem to move up the chain, only trickles down the chain of command. There are a lot of overlap of products due to acquisitions, and no serious attempt to clean that up. Pay was mediocre.

    Advice to Management

Inject some vigor in the organization by making it less top-down. A lot of improvements and ideas can come from the lower rungs, and allow that to play out. Improve pay and tie it to performance. Demand better products from the team, and reward them when they deliver!

    Pros

Lots of things to do if you are interested in doing stuff outside of your core function. Good Benefits!

    Cons

Compensation does not always keep up with industry and bonuses are very bad. Not much training available which are useful.

    Pros

This is a progressive and fast changing environment (I doubt you will not be bored).
Overall good benefits and management is not overly aggressive.
Flexible work hours to take care of urgent errands or last minute vacation decisions.

    Cons

Difficult to move between jobs within the company (it takes time for approval and the slot left open needs to be filled before approval starts).
    Diminishing perks

    Advice to Management

    Improve employee morale

    Pros

Good work life balance and good benefits. Always politics in big companies but the processes are still fairly good and there are challenges to keep you engaged. The company is not a bad place to work .

    Cons

Pay is well below market . The company has grown very big so hard to make an impact. There are some who abuse the system and do not carry their own weight but i suppose that is true of all companies. Processes can be improved. If increases and bonuses are not given to the employees in such booming market conditions then when will they be given. If not now then when?

    Advice to Management

Please give some increases to the lower level employees as well. They do work hard and make contributions

    Pros

None. I don't even find 5 words. I have to type because this HTML checks for at-least 5 words.

    Cons

Worked here for 6+ years and now we have been asked to take forced pay cuts. For past 6 years manager says that no salary raise as you get paid overtime for travel and now we are being asked to take salary cuts. It's all Mark Hurd phenomenon that was happening at HP. Look out stock owners, Oracle is going to become new HP in coming years.

    Advice to Management

There is no management here. It's all cut costs.

    Pros

The foremost reason for working here is job security and flexible work hours. Depending upon the group the workload too varies.

    Cons

Very little opportunity for career advancement, no salary increase and no bonus. Not employee friendly HR policies and perks.

    Pros

Great pay, flexible with travel expenses, top engineers, best and the brightest

    Cons

you compete with your team members, a male culture, unless your direct sales engineer....there is no collaboration, management stresses on every sale (ie show up at a funeral to get a client to sign the contract sort of tactics)

    Advice to Management

be fair to all employees and stop playing favoritess

    Pros

One of the best things at Oracle is the flexibility to work from home.

    Cons

Little change in salary and growth to the next level. Bonus is dwindling as the years go by.

    Advice to Management

Employee morale is low and addressing that would be a good start.
