Fun place to work with good experiences had.

Team Member (Former Employee)
Pleasant Hill, CA

I worked at Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt part-time

ProsGreat group of people to work with - usually people just out of high school or in college. It keeps the atmosphere enjoyable.

Relatively easy work depending on if the particular store does anything in addition to frozen yogurt, and how steady or busy business actually is.

Nice job to have while you focus on school.

ConsThe disbursement of hours can be difficult. Each store typically has about 10-14 employees, and getting the number of hours you'd like can be challenging - especially during the winter when business takes a big hit.

Management is not quick enough to reward good employees with either raises or just recognition.

Advice to Senior ManagementInvest more in your employees. If your main group of employees tend to be people out of high school or in college, help them believe that they can stay there while focusing on school. Help them believe that it's a good job to work. Reward them, promote them.

Depends on your franchise owner, but this place is a wreck.

General Manager (Current Employee)

I have been working at Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt full-time for more than a year

ProsYou control the store but if you don't make $ you get an earful.

ConsPay
No communication from franchisee to store managers
No care for managers
No hours to give

Advice to Senior ManagementInterview your franchise owners more thoroughly. Sometimes rich idiots don't have the experience to run 20+ stores. Pay more attention to who you are hiring and not necessarily how big their wallets are.

Pay attention to the little stores that actually put their hearts into the brand, even though who they work for could care less. Visit stores that have low revenue to find out what could be going better.

Mandatory training for store managers from HQ, not district managers.

Monitor whether your franchisees are actually paying their employees, stores, and invoices. Some franchisees have unpaid invoices from 6 months ago, with thousands not being paid. Same for in store petty cash and employee pay.

I worked at Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt full-time for less than a year

ProsAir conditioned, not too much work, free yogurt

ConsThe boss had cameras on us constantly, which is fine. However, we were never allowed to sit while working. We would go hours without any customers and would have to just stand and do nothing.

Advice to Senior ManagementGet rid of visors indoors. Allow employees to sit whenever nobody is in the store

Fun

Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

I have been working at Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt

ProsEasygoing environment with fun people to look for. Although, the hours can be long, the actual job itself can be performed by anyone

ConsThe cons are that the staff consisted of mainly high schooler's, which meant high school drama. Also, customer complaints about the taste of a specific yogurt type can become a drag.

Good first job. Easy and convenient

Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

I worked at Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt part-time

ProsThe things I liked most about Orange Leaf was that the time slots were flexible, I liked working with customers, and overall, it was easy work with short hours.

ConsA lot of the times I had to work alone. I'm not sure if that's the way it is for all branches though.
