    Great discount, great clients, nice atmosphere, great colleagues

    Cons

    Small staff, minimal payroll hours, lots of phone calls to get clients into the store.

    Pros

    Loved some of the products, liked the store ambience (and smell!), very good insurance.

    Cons

    Pitiful raises especially considering job description. If you want the stress of having an insane amount of paperwork, sometimes an unrealistic sales goal that is impossible to reach due to # of customers, plus the constant pressure to book appointments & facials that clients don't want- go for it, this is the job for you. Plus, you are asked to write a card on every single customer that walks in the store detailing their skin, skin care & past & present purchases.This despite the fact the system has this information if other employees get the clients name correct when at the register. Oh and phone calls. You need to not mind calling and calling and calling customers - half the time not knowing if another employee just called them a week ago. And there could be more, depending on the size of your store, how good your fellow workers are and how good your manager is

    Advice to Management

    Cut out half of the paperwork. Cut out the crazy turnover with raises! If you kept the employees happy then emp/customer relationships would improve & phone calls would not be just cold-calling & antagonizing to customer. The monthly reviews were moral busters not building.

    Pros

    I love the gratis and I can get a lot of free samples for myself.

    Cons

    We need to do a lot of facials. I love Origins, but I work at Origins inside of Macy's. Working at Macy's could be stressful.

    Discount, customers, Discount, customers, discount

    Cons

    discriminate, constant event planning, whats good in one store isn't consistent in another, HR is a joke, Regional manager is completely disconnected,bullying company.

    Advice to Management

    There needs to be a massive termination starting from HR , Regional and so on. The lack of honesty and commitment from your so called support system is a joke if you don't drink their BS water.

    Pros

    My best experience working in retail. Decent pay, comfortable work environment, treated well by management, opportunities for further training.

    Cons

    Because of the small staff size, it was difficult to pick up extra hours. Apart from that, I had no problems that aren't a given in most retail environments.

    Advice to Management

    Update sales-tracking software. Other than that much, I was fairly satisfied, so I don't have much advice to offer.

    Management needs additional training Unrealistic on sales goals

    Advice to Management

    Need more skilled management and real product training. The district manager should not be training on product he/she knows nothing about.

    Scheduling flexibility, product gratis, Estée Lauder affiliates discounts at Sister brands. Wonderful products to fall in love with and its very close customer service so you get to know your customers very well.

    Cons

    It's all about making sales plan, and raises are directly attached to whether you make numbers or not. As a manager if the store doesn't make plan for the year, no raise.

    Advice to Management

    Make some merit increase based of individual efforts to keep non salaried people motivated. It's hard to want to stay with a company of you get no raise for years

    Pros

    Gratis Perks for being an Estee Lauder employee. Flexible schedule, mini-facials and makeup demonstrations. Store was kept very clean.

    Cons

    No room for growth, constant micro-managing, A LOT of down time. Often customers just browsing, seemed bothered when they were approached. Distrust between Managers and associates.

    Advice to Management

    Increase morale within their store and dis-encourage the constant need to follow customers around asking them if they need help, they'll ask for it.

    Pros

    Great products. You really learn a lot about your skin and about skincare in general. Amazing benefits, everything is covered and the gratis is great

    Cons

    Management can be a bit harsh sometimes but that's just individual people. most of the gratis products are unavailable. Pay is not the greatest.

    Consider having a place for employees to provide suggestions about product
