Great place to work, lot to learn, higher stability than many other companies, informal work atmosphere, lot of freedom to work

Sometime over aggressive time lines, still struggling with flex time and telecommuting, not easy to see career path, lacks facilities like cafeteria

    Advice to Management

Keep the initiative going to take care of employees like work life balance and other motivational schemes. Listen to employees and implement flex time and telecommuting options

I have been working at Oshkosh Corporation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people to work with at a company that really makes a difference in many lives.

    Cons

One of the main challenges I have experienced is that like many companies advancement is slower and when advancement happens raises are uncompetitive with what an outside candidate would receive. Negotiation during internal offers is not tolerated.

    Advice to Management

Eliminate rules that dictate how much an employee can advance when changing positions and make offers to internal candidates competitive with what an external candidate would be offered. Be willing to negotiate on the terms of an internal job offer.

    Pros

Compared to many other corporate environments, Oshkosh has a very down-to-earth structure, and is alright spending money where it's reasonably needed.

    Cons

Unfortunately many of the Oshkosh locations are in relatively remote towns with little in the way of fun for interns.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you're doing - it's working quite well. I was presently surprised with how beneficial my time with Oshkosh was.

    Pros

This company offers you the growth and potential to grow and learn the skills to succeed.

    Cons

This company has no offerings to grow further with trainings.

    Advice to Management

If you want to gain knowledge and experience in the management field this is a great company to start with. If you want to advance in a company this is in not a company to look at.
