    Great experience so far.

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsGood but not great pay. However the company does encourage your feed back which is unique based in my experience.

ConsThe many metrics such as calls per day, sample ratio and micromanagement via field rides, conference calls, weekend emails, etc.

Advice to Senior ManagementDecide if you wish to continue as big venture or big Pharma.

Parent office marketing staff promoted far beyond expertise to supervise scientists, quality, legal

    Manager (Former Employee)
    Rockville, MD

ProsSome good staff, but they have left/are leaving

ConsManagement hires consultants and spends millions to cover up the problems staff knows about. When they finally admit staff is right, they hire new consultants. The company is under a Corporate Integrity Agreement for lying to patients and the government. The people who have survived the turnover are the incompetents who make life miserable: The device division folks who say their product cures cancer and works just fine after a few kicks are still there; the project manager docs whose investigation isn't working but the records aren't good enough to prove that; the self-important; the poseurs. The company is losing intellectual property exclusivity so the generous benefits are in the past.

Advice to Senior ManagementFire all the consultants; they are paid to tell you what you want to hear, true or (more likely) false.

No, I would not recommend this company to a friend – I'm not optimistic about the outlook for this company

Not the best Pharma I have worked for but would rate average

    Anonymous Employee (Current Employee)

ProsThey instill the ability to determine your own career path

ConsYou will be required to do Compliance field rides with a manager 6-8 times per year in addition to field rides

    Great & Supportive

    Administrative Assistant (Current Employee)
    Princeton, NJ

ProsThe people working here are supportive, compassionate and great joy to work with.

ConsTheir finance department is incredibly difficult to communicate with as it's like the FBI & CIA. They really need their own form of Homeland Security to manage their fiance matters.

    Home office is inept

    Neuroscience Account Manager (Current Employee)

ProsRecently up-sized field sales significantly. Doubled field force sales. Launching new product.

ConsGrowing so fast that there is no competent support at home office. HR calls go unanswered, field ops can't deliver data to the field for territory support. Massive amount of excuses of why data is missing or not accurate. Tremendous amount of micromanagement of the field - Career Trees functional/technical skills assessment is a 'jump-through-the-hoops' type of subjective management tool favored by Otsuka. Likely there will be right-sizing in a year or so when it is found to have expanded too quickly. Small company management struggling to pretend to be a major player.

Good employees - Terrible management and Poor leadership

    Anonymous Employee (Former Employee)

ProsThe employees are dedicated and very hard-working and tremendous amount of hiring going on while most of the pharma industry has been cutting.

ConsThe company leadership has been unable to make the transition from a small pharma to mid-size one successfully. Plenty of politics, micro-management, favoritism etc along with poor HR.
Not able to hire or retain top talent.

Advice to Senior ManagementIf you want to hire or retain top talent, listen to the employees rather than the consulting companies.
