I worked at Outback Steakhouse part-time for less than a year

    Pros

With the kitchen being open only between the hours of 5-9:30, it really helped enable a work-life balance.

    Cons

The quality of food is somewhat compromised to meet the low price point of the type of cuisine it is (surf and turf.)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

The softball tournament is a pretty sweet perk. I'm sure it differs from restaurant to restaurant, but more incentivized sales perks should be utilized

    I worked at Outback Steakhouse

    Pros

Engaging with customers and providing a fun hospitality experience with great, affordable food.

    Cons

Managing personal life and professional responsibilities while having a growing family. Schedule flexibility is good, however working most holidays and weekends is a challenge.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review and increase salary for managers- considering amount of time, dedication, and responsibility they contribute to the overall success of the restaurant.

I worked at Outback Steakhouse part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Excellent team atmosphere. Those who were dedicated to great service and making the most money in their section or bar were the people that shined and had priority in scheduling and section. Food was affordable so it was easy to upsell ad ons and 22 oz beers. The kitchen staff was consistent and friendly my entire time there. Management was always helpful, if you were a hard worker they would do anything to accommodate your needs.

    Cons

When I was a server I wish I could have a larger section.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep everything consistent with the culture and quality of employees.

I worked at Outback Steakhouse part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Getting half off on your meals was always a good bonus while in college. I always enjoyed the atmosphere and the management staff.

    Cons

They took away our half off discount for the other places like bonefish which was my favorite part about the job.

    Pros

The people were absolutely the best to work with. The mangers treat you fairly and actually listen to the employees. It is a team work experience that becomes like family.

    Cons

The hours are crazy. They are constantly understaffed so doubles almost everyday was a constant problem.
