I have been working at Owens & Minor full-time

    Pros

Great people! Very team oriented environment. Everyone is willing to lend a hand and get the job done.

    Cons

Low pay! Going through a lot of changes in management and not producing very good results.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Pay your employees more. Give raises to congratulate hard workers. You are going to see a lot of people leave if you don't start rewarding.

I have been working at Owens & Minor full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Met some solid individuals who made those long nights bearable.

    Cons

Lot of favoritism shown to people who would suck up to supervisor. If you can't get your Med numbers pulling bulk, you shouldn't be rewarded with only having to do totes all night. Thus inflating you med score that you previously couldn't hit. Hourly employee running shift. Half the shift not showing up which made for some brutal nights. Warehouse was a dump with unsafe pallets hanging on for dear life. Management could care less about that, more worried about your med numbers for you 15 minute break. People riding around on stock pickers and reach truck who were not certified to do so. Getting stuck behind certain people in certain isles made for a lot of fun.

I worked at Owens & Minor full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

some of the employees I worked with,

    Cons

Management and very low pay. The customer service is very poor they use to be a better company. It's like be back in high school and it's not how hard you work its who you know . The less you work the more you move up in the company

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

HR all the way from top to bottom share personal info with other employees about other employees. Fix the management in the utah office. And open you eyes to customer service

The work hours are good. Benefits are fairly decent compared to most companies.

    Cons

Low pay and a lot of clichés. Gossiping among division. Supervisors abusing their work privilege

I have been working at Owens & Minor full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Systems are super easy. Antiquated but simple. Customers are great when their orders are filled on time and deliveries aren't late and wrong, but that hasn't happened in over a year in a regular basis.

    Cons

Having to smooth over customers because the operation has been in a tail spin for over a year due to new GM and weak leadership that don't have the customers best interest in mind. There only concern is serving their own needs and not caring about internal/external customers. Purchasing manager is never around and doesn't provide leadership to the team. Customer service manager is overbearing. Office manager doesn't as little as possible but acts like they are he glue holding things together.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

This used to be a large company with a small company feel. Need to get back to that. You got rid of the wrong people when you replace the GM and others.
You've lost touch and confidence with employees and customers.
    Get a grip.

    Pros

there is not one good thing about working here

    Cons

This place is treats their employees horribly- time off, hours, compensation, promotions. They will fire you at any given moment. I have a family and worked there 3 yrs and was treated like garbage. I thought maybe it would get better but it never did. upper management talks down to you, treats you inhumane, and do not care about you or anyone else who works there. they go through employees weekly and daily; highest turnover rate I have ever witnessed.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    get ready for a lawsuit
