    I worked at P.F. Chang's full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

The company once attracted a lot of good people who were not only professional, but really cared about their work environment. Former leadership was top notch with a passion for food and operations. There are still a few of those leaders on board, but the herd is thinning. Goals included success for the many and not just a few. The company continues to be solid on the culinary side of things and continues to valiantly try to train their crews to be a cut above the competition. A good company for young, aggressive manager types to get opportunities.

    Cons

The erosion of the company culture. Took a huge hit from the transition from being a long time publicly held company to a being owned by a private equity firm. Emphasis on bottom line and little top line strategy for sustained long term growth. Over spending on outside consulting has brought little positive impact, but quite a bit of negative morale.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Identified new target market of "fresh and trendy" diners a few years back, but have done little to actually pursue them. Stop discounting a quality dining experience with offers and coupons as it plays to the bottom of the casual dining arena, not the polished end.

    Pros

Everything always ran smoothly, and communicating with managers was easy.

    I have been working at P.F. Chang's full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

The management is really flexible in determining your schedule. They are willing to work with you. Most of the staff are also very friendly and helpful. This has been my first time working in a restaurant industry and I cannot be grateful enough for the support everybody has been showing me. Promotions are also flexible. Good hands-on training, excellent discount benefits.

    Cons

Be aware of some servers who are unwilling to fully disclose their share of tips with you. Thankfully management is strict about this so if there is an issue just ring them up or talk through with the server. Another con would be not having any insurance and such before the first year but I am a backwaiter. It is not an uncommon practice. During busy seasons, might have a hard time balancing out life as you will likely have no weekends.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.
