    Pros

nice and fun summer picnic at Disneyland and winter dinner at a fancy place, people are friendly

    Cons

Expected to work 24/7 and around the clock. Not much appreciation for your hard work...and horrible schedules that expect you to sleep less than 6 hours a night sometimes, people gossip too much, upper management consists of inexperienced uneducated employees (ie. No degrees)

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

replace the scheduler!!!!!!!!! they are horrible at their job!

    Pros

The working times are very flexibel and even home office is possible, but you will also need that to be able to take phonecalls with international colleagues. But great coworkers and direct manager.

    Cons

Heavy workload with long working hours and Senior Management puts on a lot of pressure.

    Pros

Great people, good benefits, not micro managing, ability to work from home as a LM. Nice training department!

    Cons

stay away from HR; they are not there to look out after you. Totally believed in the company values, and was ready to retire from here. HR has a CYA attitude instead of being an advocate to the staff. It's a shame. No one trusts HR and does their best to stay away from them. They don't view the entire picture; just snapshots in time. You work really hard here....no such thing as a 40 hour week.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

believe in your staff; don't trust HR...you have great employees there who want to do a great job...listen to them.

    Pros

Only the work is interesting. .

    Cons

Transport..There could be no other company as terrible as Parexel when it comes to the transport dept..employees are treated so badly even by the transport guys..internal politics...you butter your line manager you can get anything and everything done...worst management ever they only listen to their line managers...they do not bother about employees...double standards of managers is pathetic they behave as though they care for you but do all possible things to damage behind you. .food is horrible. .wash rooms are worst than public toilets...no work culture except for back biting and unwanted gossip.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Please try to be employee friendly...long way to go..lots of weeds to be removed to keep it clean. .

Former Employee - IT Specialist in Buenos Aires (Argentina)

    Pros

    They claim to be flexible.

    Cons

Compensation is really poor compared to the amount of responsibility they concentrate on each employee.

Management style is really poor. Team synergy is non-existent. They foster individualism and dirty competence among all the levels within the organization.

They are proud of their "state-of-the art" technology development/applications, yet they hire people who are actual technology illiterates. Systems were full of glitches. A dozen servers were down every day.

If you are thinking of becoming part of their IT team in Latin America, stay away.

Current Employee - Medical Advisor in Prague (Czech Republic)

    Pros

time flexibility, good place for education in the particular field, broad areas of responsibilities

    Cons

too overloaded with the operating procedures, a lot of unnecessary, obsolete or useless trainings. Conservative rather than dynamically developing. a lot of different positions on different levels in the particular field but with the same responsibility

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

career development should be more clearer and transparent; more support for employees from the management is needed

    Pros

Not much to say for pros. The pay rate was just ok. Not the worst but not best either. The people were good, but the management model is not.

    Cons

Too many management layers, poor broadcasting of future workload. Training was a joke. If you have limited experience this is not the place to go.

Current Employee - Director  in  San Diego, CA
Current Employee - Director in San Diego, CA

    Pros

Highly decentralized culture where you are able to work remotely with a diverse global staff. Management is hit or miss depending on the group for whom you work.

    Cons

The workload and travel expectations aee punishing. 60 hr weeks are the norm with minimal worklife balance despite promises to the contrary. For a 13,000 person company there always seems to be staffing shortages and zero training. Management is very cliquey and if you aren't part of the club, never expected to get promoted or even receive a thank you from your boss. There are a lot of promises made in terms of career advancement, but when it comes time to hire, expect the new person to come from outside the company ar a higher payscale than internal employees. The company isn't growing organically, and is only achieving numbers through acquisitions. The CRO industry is changing and the company is consistentlh losing projects to more nimble and less expensive competitors.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the people in the field regarding emerging trends in the industry. Leadership is more than empty words and threats. Management through politics and intimidation is no way to lead...and that is rampant throughout the PAREXEL culture.
