I have been working at PCB Group full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Clean, well maintained modern facility. Benefits are paid 100% by the company. They give bonuses when they can. Pcb promotes growth of employees, tuition reimbursement for employee and children!!!

    Cons

They tend to be extremely frugal when it comes to purchasing capital equipment, which just means you have to prepare a strong ROI

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

I have been working at PCB Group

    Pros

Health insurance premiums are paid by employer (although when group companies transition to PCB health benefits, they have to forego subsequent annual raise.) The company is run by a family. Each brother has his own business unit. Employees who work in manufacturing or engineering in New York seem to be the happiest.

    Cons

The sales and marketing organization is a mess. Turnover is extremely high. I had 5 bosses in 2 years. It is run by someone with no sales or marketing experience who micromanages the department to an unbelievable degree. You can't even publish a LinkedIn post without preparing a detailed summary and setting up a review meeting with the vice president. When traveling for work, you are not allowed to travel during business hours. There is a lot of nepotism. Owners and executives hire family and friends for jobs for which they are not qualified. People are not empowered to do their jobs.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

When you treat people like cattle, they will behave as such. Take away all ownership and autonomy of a person's job, and they will stop caring. Let go of some of that power and you will discover talents in your employees that you can use to improve your business. When you micromanage the process from start to finish, it doesn't really make sense to hold the employee responsible for the results, especially if they initially tried to take a different approach. Place more value on employees.

    I worked at PCB Group

    Pros

Great to work someplace that is bringing money into the local economy. Company has steady growth, and is managed well. Good, dedicated people.

    Cons

I enjoyed it, but manufacturing is not for everyone.

I have been working at PCB Group full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Very laid back culture that is more inclined to host an on-site happy hour than an "all-hands" meeting to talk about "the mission". Very much an environment of personal responsibility where if you make a mess, you are held accountable, as opposed to employers who simply punish everyone for the acts of the few. Very minimalist in terms of office environment, but all effort is put forth to making, and shipping product.

    Cons

I wish the IT department had a little nicer place to work. We have been in the same place so long everything is getting a little ratty.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

    Keep up the good work.

I have been working at PCB Group full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

This is a growing, stable company with a great compensation package. The people are very friendly and always willing to help. The products are interesting and used in so many different industries. It is a layed back organization, not the high stress corporate suit and tie structure you might see somewhere else. Everyone works hard but they have fun too!

    Cons

It is a ever changing environment, you have to be flexible. If you are resistant to change this is not the place for you. Because it is constantly growing, employees take on more work then they can handle.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Notice when your employees are taped out, even when they don't know it, and align the workload with employees strengths.
