I have been working at PCGCampbell full-time (more than 10 years)

    Pros

Strong clients with steady work. Team environment. Heavy use of technology allows for remote work and flexible arrangements. Travel opportunities for people who want it. Management is accessible and friendly. More communication with staff is a recent improvement. End of year bonuses. Comp time. Good benefits. Feels like a well-managed company.

    Cons

Need steadier new business function to provide more opportunities for employees to move up. Pay scale trails some other agencies. Work tends to be repetitive on certain project teams. Teams differ greatly based on director in charge. Not all differences are good, and some managers could use management training.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

More new business would energize the staff and reassure younger employees that the company is a place to stay. Work on developing managers, and not just expecting employees who are promoted to grow into the position.

    Pros

Nice co workers, nice office, friendly upper management, regular meetings that keep you up to date of the company as a whole and yearly outlook, small holiday bonus, company provided lunches from time to time, insurance and benefits are not bad.

    Cons

lower pay than other companies, advancement can be difficult although it's not impossible, larger work loads without pay increase, can be a lack of communication between supervisors and employees.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Review your account directors and ask for employees to provide their opinion as well. Continue to keep employees informed. Start using modern ways of business management... some supervisors tend to be "stuck" in outdated ways.

    Pros

Within the enthusiast outreach area, there are great people.

    Cons

Management fails at communication, customer service, and transparency. You are told the starting wage is not negotiable... and standard, it's not. The wages between employees hired around the same time with the same responsibility are often unjustly different. Management cowers behind the "well, this is way we do it" mentality, and they have shown time-again... they are more willing to rehire and train someone new than give someone an earned raise in pay and responsibility. Don't expect management to stay as long each day as the subordinates either. Also, there is no formal or informal 1-on-1 review time for employees. As a result, employees don't have understanding of concerns, timelines, goals, or expectations. These are the people responsible to communicate with high-value customers?!

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication, (some) training, more consistent pay, and competent management would go a long way.

    Pros

It's a good place to begin your career as you gain a lot of experience very quickly. You are given a good amount of responsibility right off the bat.

    Cons

Difficult to advance, you end up getting stuck doing the same thing over and over again. There is no creativity, the office is boring and dull, and there are a lot of dinosaur ideas that are reinvented here.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Communicate issues/ideas/updates throughout company, rather then let everyone find out through the grapevine. Develop more moral boosting events and activities.

    Pros

    People friendly and respectful co-workers.

    Cons

When you're new, there isn't much training, so you sorta feel lost and on your own.

    Pros

PCG is a great place to start your professional career! I would defintely reccommend it as a first job. You get the opportunity to work on many different clients and programs. And all the employees are super friendly, which helps the work relationships/environment.

    Cons

There is not a lot of opportunity for advancement, you kind of get stuck in the same position. Often times supervisors don't listen to what your saying and the feeling that your skills and ideas aren't be used start to increase.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Listen to the employees more, after all thats what you have reviews for right?

I have been working at PCGCampbell

    Pros

PCGCampbell has a great culture of flexible work schedules and awesome benefits. I've been happy with my career progression but I know of others who've been stagnating in positions (and who actually do deserve promotion). So I'm positive personally, but neutral to negative company-wide on promotion.

    Cons

This company is definitely in a cultural shift and are stuck behind the times in terms of technology and worldview. Compensation (aside from awesome bene's) is on an average lower than other similar companies. They also don't have much status with their clients but are more of a servant than equal (or expert) partner.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seriously give more consideration to a strategic business plan and evaluate the skills and abilities of those within the company a bit more stringently. People may know more than you utilize and there's no excuse for looking past many of your best employees.

    Pros

Big cubicles are nice, and the dress code is very casual. I'm talking flip flops, t-shirt and shorts. There's a candy bowl out front and the receptionist is pretty cool. Hm, what else? Hard to think of good things.... Oh, the lunch time options are pretty decent. Big fan of the Mongolian BBQ at the mall.

    Cons

No feedback, lack of leadership, managers are (for the most part) jerks, client's are TERRIBLE and the head of the company spends maybe 15 minutes at the office per week. Then he plays golf.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Seriously, treat your employees better. Just because you're hiring young, aggressive go-getters, doesn't mean you have to work them like pack mules.
