I have been working at PCM full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great place to learn about 1000s of products and how to market them.

    Cons

Company acquisitions limits the field to grow your business.

    Advice to Management

  3. Decent for an in-between job - keep looking becuz there's no room to 'grow.'

I have been working at PCM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Freedom to do what you like on a daily basis with enough room to do your job without being overshadowed.

    Cons

No Christmas bonus or anything remotely personal any time of the year. + Don't expect a raise, they won't even try to get you one. Insurance costs a lot of money and is rather disappointing in coverage.

    Advice to Management

Cost of living raises are a necessary evil in this world. When you keep a system running you shouldn't need to prove that you can do even more when you came in under the cap anyway. Insurance costs a lot of money these days.

I have been working at PCM full-time

    Pros

Lots of opportunities for advancement. Great location and great people.

    Cons

No cons I can think of. Very cold inside the building.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

    I worked at PCM full-time

    Pros

Good people, smart people, customer focused people.

    Cons

    Disconnected regionally (east vs west)

    Advice to Management

    Equalize regions

I worked at PCM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of current technologies to work with

    Cons

Shoot from the hip mentality, no mentoring or training. Not the best culture or environment to work in. Most managers not properly trained on managing people.

    Advice to Management

Your employees are your best resource. If you do not start requiring self-performance reviews, how can you expect to understand their goals and keep people engaged?

I worked at PCM full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The few pros to working here were free lunches on occasion (once or twice a week) and young recent college grads in a similar situation

    Cons

You are paid on a draw plan which is based off of gross profit in a highly saturated market which drives margins into the ground. There's no money to be made unless you find that diamond in the rough.

    Advice to Management

Turnover is expensive. Chances are most of your office did not graduate with a cold calling degree. If you can't get employees to earn enough to move out of their parents house and at least enjoy themselves doing a less than ideal job, you're going to continue to burn through people and money.

    Pros

Awesome company to work for! Great culture with strong team environment and management support. Company is currently in growth mode so great time to come on board. I started 6 months ago and I love it!

    Cons

Provides flexible shift, but would like more work from home ( remote) days!!

I have been working at PCM full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good coworkers, good management, awesome sales incentives given away on an almost daily basis. Incredible vendor relations.

    Cons

Cold calling... A lot of it. Lack of marketing makes it a challenge to explain to customers that PCM is a $1.5 million company. Long sales cycle.

    Advice to Management

Accounts sit untended by sales reps for months at a time, it would be nice if the newer reps, or those not meeting goals were assigned dead accounts to reactivate.
