I worked at PCM Services SARCOM full-time

    Pros

A lot of opportunity to garner experience. Low barriers to work on new technologies. Decent benefits and pay.

    Cons

Stratification with sales and other key business divisions. Churn and burn. Management leans too much on top performers and can't seem to hire more talent when necessary. No scheduled 1:1 time. Management happy to check in briefly handful times / month to ensure house isn't burning down, but that's about it. No focus on employee as individual. Aging facilities and company culture.

  2. It's an OK place to start out and get experience but you wont want to stay too long.

    Pros

It is a good place to start out your career especially if you work on accounts with enterprise level customers. I met some great people.

    Cons

Their is a lot of churn and burn. Extremely limited opportunities for advancement. It is hard to watch as account managers miss opportunities to expand service offerings to existing customers because it erodes any sense of job security.

    Advice to Management

Pay attention to what your competitors are doing and shamelessly rip off their good ideas because you don't have any. Hire more aggressive sales and account management personnel to bring in new business as well as expand services with existing customers.

    Pros

If they want to hire you and you need money, you will get paid. There is potential to be exposed to a variety of technology, primarily in support of GE Aviation IT in my area.

    Cons

Limited work opportunities, high maintenance customers, and nonexistent benefits for employee development make this one a minefield.

    Advice to Management

Work to establish a corporate identity other than that of a bodyshop.

    Pros

There were many people over the years that were a pleasure to work with.

    Cons

Too many to list, but a few were sub par pay, difficulty in advancement, lack of training.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees well, and they will be loyal instead of focusing on money as your bottom line.

Management kept cutting staff to increase profits, but in the end it impacted service and moral and they ended up losing the account.

    Pros

THey provide Unlimited overtime for hourly employees because there isnt anyone else to do it.

    Cons

They DO NOT PRomote from within. Management doesn't utilize employees full potential and employees often leave as due to the churn and burn scenario.

    Pros

The company has extremely friendly people. Everyone I have worked with were professional and knew their job duties.

    Cons

Working outside the office can have its downsides. Many times there have been internal job openings, but I wasn't informed about them.

    Advice to Management

Truthfully, I have nothing negative to say. My advice to management is only to keep doing what you've been doing. Its been great so far working for PCM!
