Advice to Senior Management
improve adaptiveness
Pros
Work here if you want to have great co-workers who really care about doing a great job in software development and IT consulting.
Cons
Downsides to working at PCMS include micromanagement and bad communication from senior management, in addition to repeating the same mistakes over and over again.
Pros
Large clients. Large development team. Long term company with a range of large and medium clients in the retail sector
Cons
Poor use of technology. Lots of legacy code that is too complicated to be updated and moderised. Management doesn't have a clue about industry best practise
Advice to Senior Management
Hire consultants to sort out the awful problems in your engineering practises. Your senior staff don't have a clue and are total protectionists.
Pros
The people there are tight knit and are able to pull together well when it's necessary. I would say that there might not be a better, smarter set of co-workers in any company nearby. The management hierarchy is rather flat, and this makes for an egalitarian feel about the office.
Cons
As this company grows, it is beginning to adopt corporate policies that might threaten the small company feel that differentiates it from other companies. While technically a multinational, its branches tend to have low levels of interaction among themselves.
Advice to Senior Management
Don't make this company resemble other large corporate businesses. The most talented members of your organization work for you chiefly because you are not calcified into inaction by policy and process.
