PCS Wireless does not operate professionally!

ProsVery few pros other than an abundance of holidays you receive time off for.

ConsPCS Wireless will try to sell you on it's financial stability when in reality, they will not be able to afford you for any longer than a few months. This company has an extremely high turnover rate and you will encounter one round of lay-offs after another. They will also let you go conveniently prior to you being eligible to receive unemployment benefits. PCS Wireless will tell you that they are "working on" providing healthcare benefits to all of their employees, but have no intention of doing so. Executive Management is given an extra monetary bonus in their paychecks on a monthly basis so that they can go out and purchase their own healthcare. You will see a great religious divide at this company and will notice quickly how poorly you are treated if you are not a part of "the majority". All in all, PCS Wireless is a very unethical organization to be a part of.

ProsPayday, punch out time, hollidays

ConsThey treat you like a number, and have no perks, frills, or comforts.

Advice to Senior ManagementHave some heart, treat people like humans not just assets. Look into some kind of benefits beyond paychecks, you know like medical???

Well Rounded Employer Selling Telus Products

Wireless Communications Specialist (Current Employee)

I have been working at PCS Wireless

ProsThe upper management is very good at managing the company. You feel welcome to the company from the start and annual employee events (Summer BBQ, Christmas Party, etc) are a great way to keep up this feeling. There are many incentives for good sales people (outside of what Telus normally offers) including, but not limited to; day trips all around North America; an annual Golf Tournament; and a plethora of "spiffs" from specific phone vendors. The employees are treated well in most cases by management and they work hard to make sure no one is left out. The work conditions are as safe as they can be, with reasonable expectations to keep up with product knowledge, acheive sales targets and to keep a good relationship with all clients.

ConsWorking as the front line of a major telecom company like Telus can be demanding. Clients have very unrealistic expectations and everyone thinks they are the best client you will ever have. There are, unfortunately, too many people who don't have credit and end up being a drain on each store because of the extensive amount of time they waste with little profit generated. As our targets are all performance based this is the only real issue. If you don't have a strong tolerance for people who are unhappy with anything that isn't free then this is not the job for you. You also need to be prepared to do a bit of paper work and learn the technology or you will feel very inadequate when asked more than basic questions by clients.

Advice to Senior ManagementKeep up the good work. I think that the level of morale in the company is quite good with the only real issues coming from clients with unrealistic expectations trying to cause a fuss to pay less. If anything, do not give in to these clients as often as you do. If you keep giving them an inch they will take a mile.
