I have been working at PDS Technical Services full-time (more than a year)

    Pros

PDS has a great Company culture. They're not breathing down your neck, looking for ways to criticize like other places I've worked. Instead they intentionally look for ways to enable you to grow professionally and take notice when you've done a job well. The management looks for your input and opinion and so everyone has the ability to be involved in decisions. There are definitely good opportunities here.

Pay is reasonable and there are a wide range of good benefits available including health & dental insurance, 401k with no waiting period, vacation and sick time when needed.

They invest in new systems to continually improve the work environment and efficiency.

    Cons

Would like to be able to work remotely on occasion, if an unavoidable difficulty comes up and I can't travel to the office. With the technology available there is no difference in job performance.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Keep up the great work and don't be afraid to be social.

I worked at PDS Technical Services

    Pros

There is not a good reason to work with PDS.

    Cons

No contact from management they treat you like trash and don't support in any way, if the company you are sent to work for ends your contract for any outrageous reason they listen to them and not you, and they have expensive benefits and no raises.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Don't lie to your workers about going permanent if it is a open ended contract let that be known, everyone Doesn't want to work as a temp forever.

    Pros

Provides the best package for contract engineers. 401K is not limited like other contract agencies since there are not huge discrepancies in earnings.

    Cons

Same cons as every contract house. They take a substantial amount of money just to pay your social security and medicare taxes.

I worked at PDS Technical Services as a contractor (more than a year)

    Pros

Whenever I contacted PDS Tech the personnel was very professional and customer service oriented. As a contractor, I can honestly say that I would jump at working with my recruiters. My recruiters always made sure that I was qualified and felt comfortable for positions they submitted me for. During the 2 1/4 years, I have worked my previous contract I always felt comfortable working with PDS Tech, whether it be payroll, benefits or my recruiter.

    Cons

As a contractor, there is no vacation, sick leave and it is very simple -- you do not work, you will not be paid. I consider this a Con but some individuals that see it as flexibility so it will be a matter of perspective.

I have been working at PDS Technical Services full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

PDS Tech has good benefits; including some holiday pay unlike most other sub-contract services.

    Cons

There is nothing negative to say about PDS Tech. That being said it is a contract agency and I need a permanent job. But this is not against PDS Tech.

I worked at PDS Technical Services full-time (more than 5 years)

    Pros

This was a branch of the company .The people were all local and one had the ability to work independently. It was like running your own company. The corporate staff is especially excellent to work with. All the branch manager and the teams always have the How can I help you attitude. The owner of the company is a very down to earth and humble individual after meeting him you realize how the company is succeeding.

    Cons

The company would shut down local offices due to no local clients. The management did not do any efforts to hire the right candidate for Business Development for the office to sustain.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Take the time to hire and train the Business Development Managers. This is a very good company with excellent people to work with.

I have been working at PDS Technical Services full-time (less than a year)

    Pros

Pay on time and pay is ok.

    Cons

Not very quick to respond to messages and emails. I have been working for almost a yeaar now and I am still fighting to find out information on how to claim sick time (City ordinance requires they pay this). Noone seems to know what I am talking about. Also, my contract was extended twice and I was not told about it. I had to hunt them down to ask if it was ending or extending.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

Better communication about contract extensions would be great. Also, communications that are in compliance with city ordinance about sick/safe time would be appreciated.
