I have been working at PGA TOUR full-time (more than 3 years)

    Pros

Tight-knight shop. Good company culture. Golf flat/up slightly in US; but expanding globally. Big brand. Work with small, well-functioning teams; but have access to big boy tools and vendors.

    Cons

It is a non-profit that operates in particular ways. Lessons, processes from other for-profit businesses sometimes don't apply. Some initiatives - even those that seem core or strategically important - can run super lean and/or suffer from lack of long-term investment (gotta pay your way each year). Also, small workforce and low turnover can lead to lack of opportunities in some cases. May have to move laterally of you like change. It's not always up (that can be a slow process).

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

As organization expands and works to increase accountability (a good thing), keep the perks and atmosphere that makes the most junior employees feel connected and able to access and a part of the PGA TOUR. Keep the existing company culture and look for signs of worker vs. executive (that are rare today!) strife from emerging.

    I worked at PGA TOUR

    Pros

There are a lot of great benefits and the environment is nice -- it is very family oriented and I always felt welcomed while I was there

    Cons

It's very bureaucratic in a sense and the pay is very low. Also from what I know, there isn't much room for advancement which is very stifling

    Pros

Very much of a family environment, outstanding benefits package.

    Cons

Salary not very good unless you are higher management.

    Advice to ManagementAdvice

There is a gap between front line and high level management. Needs to be more promotions into middle management.
